This rich, malty dark ale is reminiscent of the smooth ales produced by the Weltenberg Brewery in Northwestern Germany. The Pilsner, Caravienne, Munich, Chocolate, Black malts and Roasted Barley give this great dark ale a creamy, roasted malt flavor, which is perfectly balanced with Cascade hops.

Draught, deep brown and a little opaque color, aroma of prunes, carob and some cocoa, flavor of toasted dark bread, wit hints of chocolate, medium bready like sourness, almost piercing. Pleasant brew.

Pours black with a thin white lace. Not much aroma wise. Nice flavor. Some malts, little bitterness. Sweetish but not intense. A hint of chocolate. A little hops hiding in the back. Nice drinkable beer that’s not trying to be super unique.

On tap at NXNX. Dark brown pour with a large tan head. Nose is big roasted malts with light coffee and lighter chocolate with obvious alcohol. Sweet chocolate and vanilla with lots of roasted nuts but evident alcohol. Mouth is thin and slightly watery. Average carbonation. OK.

A soft black with low opacity and a white head. Very little roast, very little body, and no depth. No bitter aftertaste though. Not worth your time.

Brown pour, mild malty aroma. Thin body with a roast malt nd light smoky taste. Prettygood but hard to believe this is the base beer for blackjack.

Looks beautiful -- dark brown with a creamy head -- but there’s not much depth on the palate. Nothing bad, just nothing exciting.

(Draught) rich copper/amber with creamy night-like head. Nose of biscuit, melon, sweet malt, cracker, and light raisin. Taste of toasty raisin, creamy, spicy, and candied fruit. Creamy finish.
