fiulijn (5900), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 7, 2007 Draught at the brewpub Dark amber color. Light aroma. Some flavor of caramel and chocolate malt. Drinkable but too simple. CaptainCougar (4665), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jan 20, 2004 Light brown color with a thin lacey off-white head. Mildy sweet and lightly roasted aroma. Body is dry with some grainy caramel malt flavor and candy sweetness. A nicely drinkable dark ale. acrdz (4406), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 24, 2005 White head on a black body with abundant light shining through this dark ale. Flavor is strange... similar to the black-soba from Rogue with a twangy vegetable and cream flavor. Bland and flavorless with a mild, pasty palate and an aroma that stinks of milk and vegetables. The only good qualities about it are that the bad flavors are not strong at all. Very subtle. PorterPounder (2853), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 1, 2004 Had on tap at the brewpub in Austin. Dark brown fading to black appearance with. Flavor has a bit of a roasty flavor. Has a decent malty backbone, but overall, is rather bland. Mouthfeel is decent enough, but needs work. Walt (2288), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2005 Poured caramel brown with no head...taste is sweet with steamed corn...sticky...not good...
