Commercial Description:
Seems hard to believe that we’ve been making Old Rasputin for 10 years now, but that’s what’s happened. And, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed a special small batch that’s been aged for 9 months in some 12 year-old bourbon barrels. It’s bottled in 500 ml bottles with a cork and wired finish and a special commemorative label ---- and it’s amazing. The depth, intensity and complexity of the flavor profile make it a worthy tribute to this fine beer. Available at the brewery.

Huge thanks to hopscotch for sharing this one with all of us at the Orlando gathering.

As soon as I heard this was coming, it was my most anticipated brew of the night. Pours a dark brown to black body with a creamy tan head. Notes of borboun, oak, chocolate, dark fruits, coffee on the nose. Smells very "hot". Flavors of molasses, chocolate, caramel, bourbon and whiskey. Palate is sticky, not as thick as I normally like from an Imp Stout. Finishes with a nice chocolate kick and alcohol burn. Still haven’t had the original, but this one was very nice, and got even better as it warmed.

Very cool beer. Not one to drink fast though! Dark, dark brown with little head. Chocolate, vanilla, malt and bourbon aroma and flavors. Overall, a nice complex beer.

Much thanks to DMac. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Heavy bourbon on the nose, slight oak and some chocolate. Taste is complex, bourbon, slight vanilla, oak, chocolate and a slightly hot alcoholic finish. Well done

16.9 oz bottle, what the hell size is that?? Pours a deep dark brown that is slightly thin looking with an average size frothy light beige head. Aroma is great with tons of bourbon, oak, chocolate, coffee and perhaps a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied with average carbonation and STRONG heat from the 11.6% ABV. Flavor starts off with lots of bourbon, then roasted malts and chocolate take over and an aftertaste of vanilla. Very nicely done and is some real good stuff.

Thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing this bottle! Poured an opaque black color. The head was tan with good retention and lacing. Smelled of relatively subdued bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Medium to full bodied and sweet with mild bitterness. Roasted malt, moderate bourbon, vanilla, mixed spices, and chocolate filled out the flavor profile. Nice beer and not over-bourbonated, IMO.

Man I’ve wanted this one forever. Thanks joeyherkeye! Black pour with a good sized tan head. Aroma is BOURBON with some caramel as well. Flavor was BOURBON with burnt caramel, chocolate, and some dusty wood. Finishes very boozy, lots of sweet bourbon still floating around.
