Commercial Description:
Seems hard to believe that we’ve been making Old Rasputin for 10 years now, but that’s what’s happened. And, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed a special small batch that’s been aged for 9 months in some 12 year-old bourbon barrels. It’s bottled in 500 ml bottles with a cork and wired finish and a special commemorative label ---- and it’s amazing. The depth, intensity and complexity of the flavor profile make it a worthy tribute to this fine beer. Available at the brewery.

Thanks john-adam! Pours deep black with dark brown head. Aromas of burbon, vanilla, coffee, roasted malt, and alcohol. Nice thick body with flavors of malt, burbon, chocolate, and coffee in the finish. Wonderful brew.

Thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing this bottle! Poured an opaque black color. The head was tan with good retention and lacing. Smelled of relatively subdued bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Medium to full bodied and sweet with mild bitterness. Roasted malt, moderate bourbon, vanilla, mixed spices, and chocolate filled out the flavor profile. Nice beer and not over-bourbonated, IMO.

Man I’ve wanted this one forever. Thanks joeyherkeye! Black pour with a good sized tan head. Aroma is BOURBON with some caramel as well. Flavor was BOURBON with burnt caramel, chocolate, and some dusty wood. Finishes very boozy, lots of sweet bourbon still floating around.

16.9 oz bottle. Ebony with a creamy tan head. Nose is bourbon, chocolate cake and dusty barrel. Medium body with a few prickles followed by a sinus clearing shot of bourbon. Taste is primarily bourbon but nicely balanced with chocolate, dark roast and a touch of licorice. Well brewed.

From 22 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black and with a creamy tan head. Aroma is dense barrel and roasted malt with a light liqourice note. Flavour is dense malty and liqourice in a complex and flavourful mix. Solid roasted and liqourice finish with clearly warming alcohol presence.

Bottle shared by yobdoog at BCTC. Thanks Trevor! Nose is roasty. These are all the notes I took. But I did write down some numbers, so I guess I’ll just enter them. It was a long day of drinking so give me a break.
