the_federalist (199), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA May 12, 2008 Bottle. Hazy yellow. Medium lasting head. Aroma is simple, some noble hops. Flavor is pleasant, mildly sweet. Wheat is perhaps a smaller % of the grist than some wheet beers. Yeast character is mild but very pleasant. Mouthfeel is very satisfactory, though it is comparatively lowly carbonated. Recipe quabbles aside, this beer was taken great care of during fermentation. Probably the best American Wheat I’ve had.
DrDavid (351), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 9, 2008 (Bottle). Fresh citrus aroma. Cloudy yellow-orange body, small fizzy white head. Flavor is refreshing, citrusy, almost no bitterness. Slightly tart in the finish. Very good for a wheat. jhumphries69 (523), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Oct 8, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy deep gold with a thin white head. The aroma is crisp and wheaty. The flavor has some subtle citrus and ester character on top of a decent bit of wheat and bready malts. At mid-palate, there is a subtle noble hop bitterness. The finish is light and refreshing. The mouthfeel is vigrously carbonated and medium in body. Overall, a decent and drinkable beer - not bad for an American Wheat, but not phenomenal. BeerBunker (103), Burbank, Illinois, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a murky orange with a fizzy white head. Aroma is of malts, pine, and hops. Taste is slightly hoppy, with malts that leaves you with a lingering sweetness. Mouthfeel is very creamy with good carbonation. Nothing spectacular, but very drinkable and moderately refreshing. ilovedarkbeer (764), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 27, 2008 Bad. Pours a hazy golden color with white foamy head that quickly disappears. Nose is sour and stale. Taste is watery and of adjuncts but also slightly sweet. A real mess. blklab2007 (569), Connecticut, USA Sep 15, 2008 bottle poured a yellow golden color with a half inch of white foamy head that fell quickly. aroma has resinous hops, faint citrus, orange, stale wheat, and malt. carbination is steady and the mouth feel is thin. flavor is very thin and watery. sweet corn, wheat, faint spice and hops. I believe this bottle has been sitting for some time as the flavor is really broken down.
