Feb 9, 2008 4 pack from wooden keg. I had high expectations for this beer - Belgian Strongs being my bread and butter. Pours medium brown with a think foamy tan head, which disappears within a moderate amount of time. Mouthfeel was thinner than I prefer and it felt as though it wre falling to either side of my tongue. There’s a strange aftertaste that i can’t quite put my finger on yet but i have 3 more bottles to figure it out. not a bad beer probably won’t buy again after the 4pack but decent.

Feb 7, 2008 Lovely. Pours with a nice dark orange color, sturdy light brown head. Low carbination. Slightly fruity, buttery flavor almost like bananas. Swet malty flavors. Has almost creamy consistancy. Tasted as good from the bottle as I remember on tap.

Feb 7, 2008 Finally got to try this guy, thanks Zane for giving me the idea! Amazing beer with a nice burgandy color and a nice frosty head. Doest have that much of a smell, Im kind of stuffed up so I cant really smell, but you can really taste the alcohol but its a nice belgium beer!

Feb 7, 2008 Pretty big bottle, thanks for this very special beer TikiE. Poures a frothy head. Aroma of sweet fruit. Carbonation is clear. It was very good Belgian.

Feb 4, 2008 750 ML Bottle...Pours a brown w/ a garnet tint. Slight tannish head that quickly melts away...Nose of yeast and dark fruits. Flavor of dark fruits (raisins and figs), malt, some alcohol and a slight bitterness. The mouthfeel is a little light...Overall, a great sipper.

Jan 31, 2008 750 ML Bottle-Dark reddish brown color w/almost no head. Aroma of burnt molasis. Has a bitter, nutty flavor w/traces of burnt peat & firewood. Wasn’t real crazy @ this one, had a kind of stale flavor to it. Didn’t get that classic fresh, Belgian flavor. Average @ best, I wouldn’t recomend it.

Jan 28, 2008 Draft. Pours dark brown with tan head. The aroma has rich burnt malt along with some carame sweetness. The flavor has lots of bitterness along with some nutty and malt sweetness. The finish has a pleasing bitterness. This was more complex on draft than I remember the bottle being.

Jan 27, 2008 Updated: Mar 1, 2008Fast dissipating (creamy-ish) off white head. Dark brown ruby in color. The aroma is almonds, sweet, alcohol, raisins/prunes and malts. The taste is sweet and malty with caramel/malty notes. Alcohol burn is evident. The body is a bit watery so the mouth feel isn’t excellent. I enjoyed it overall because it fits my preferences well. The appearance and body were a bit lacking if anything was.
