AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Aug 24, 2007 From the Bottle (Thanks Frank!) I really liked this one. Poured a beautiful amber brown tone with an aroma of sweet malt. Taste of caramel and malt stand out with a clean finish. Will have again. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Very dark red/brown pour. Very sweet aroma. Very strong malt taste with a warm feeling in the mouth. Very solid beer. beisen (90), California, USA Aug 18, 2007 Very classic bottle. Pours reddish brown with a half inch tan head. Malty, bready taste with a fizzy mouthfeel. A little sweetness in it as well. Enjoyable, but a little pricey. Slipstream (734), USA Aug 14, 2007 Updated: Sep 7, 2007Malty and sweet, rich taste, very nice on the palate, and the flavor develops in your mouth. The label is a classic - but unfortunately, the beer is not. GaltScat (195), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 13, 2007 Nuts, caramel, malt, and brown sugar. That is the appearance, aroma, and flavor. Solidly blended and syrupy with a nice alcohol content. The finish is very smooth and very soft. KnutAlbert (3101), Oslo, Norway Aug 7, 2007 Nutty, full of flavour, lots of good stuff packed into the bottle. Raisins, prunes, apricots, burned sugar. A little fizz that covers the alcohol warming. Great stuff! bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 5, 2007 Murky swamp water brown look. Caramelly, nutty, malt aroma. Pretty docile, malt and roasted nut flavor. Smooth, mellow and good. extremeicon (108), Wichita, Kansas, USA Aug 4, 2007 Dark reddish brown with a thin (but initially very active) whitish head. Lots of malt and some fruits in the nose, though a bit weak. Flavors of dried fruits and malt with a bit of breadyness in the finish. I thought the flavor hid the alcohol well.
