375 ml bottle from Wilburís thanks to Matt. Appearance: 3 fingers white head that doesnít last too long, straw yellow, slightly cloudy, Aroma: fruity white wine, earthey yeast, leaves, light molasses. Palate: light body, lively carbonation, dry finish, thin texture, light alcohol warming. Taste: wheat and fruit sweetness with light tartness, ending with light bitterness. Overall, very nice beer, like the balance and the crispness. Very solid farmhouse.

Pale yellow pour with a thick white lasting head. Barny aroma, waiting on that head. Slight sour funkiness, grassy, maybe a bit of honey in the distance. Head in the way. A few minutes later this really opens up. Burnt sugar and caramel, canít find the tropical fruit but a nice funky-hard sweet taste. Much better as the bottle emptied. Would I drink again? Yes. Would I order again? yes.

Bottle. Nice notes of bread, lemon, floral hop, pepper, and citrus peel. Finish was Belgian spice. I found it refreshing.

12 oz bottle from "Lifesource" in Salem $3.49 Pours a slightly hazy, fine carbonated golden colour..large rocky white head. fine summer fruit aromas ,nectarine, papaya, some apricot., a little barnyard hay in the back. Nice Taste is the same but a little more spicy/peppery and floral. Nice mouth feel..very fine carbonation. Long lasting after taste from the hops I assume. A fine beer for a warm humid spring night

Pours a transparent yellow with a very foamy, long-lasting white head. Has an aroma of sweet Belgian yeast and fruit. Flavor is sweet yeast, fruit, and a touch of spice. Has a light body feel and goes down smooth. Towards the end the beer begins to lose its flavor. This is a very good saison.

750 shared. Poured a medium semi hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma is typical saison scent with Belgian yeast and some citrus mainly orange peel. The flavor citrusy saison with Belgian yeast I really donít get much on the hops. Overall decent saison.

August 30th, 2011 - Despite the name, and pronouncements to the contrary from North Coastís webpage, I found La Merle to taste much more like a dry tripel than like a saison, or farmhouse ale (whatever that means.) Aspen white bubbles quickly inflate to the top of the glass, thousands of pearls and marbles forming a gaseous matrix that practically begs to be applied to my upper lip. A bright straw color glows from the glass, dense and foggy like an early London morning. The aroma features smells of bubblegum, banana and a nice springiness with a touch of mild herbs like parsley. In the flavor I parse out more of those subtly sweet tastes of bubble gum and banana, lifted by a highly carbonated, slightly sweet body, finished with a light, clean edge and and even cleaner finish. This is the apogee of Spring drinking, and best taken liberally on an early Spring afternoon with some lightly cooked seasonal vegetables.

On tap. Comes a cloudy pale golden orange with a decent white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, and spice. Taste is citrus, tropical, funk, spice, and malt. Nice.
