Bottle at home. Aroma is spicy yeast, fruity, bready malt, floral notes, bubblegum, hint of funk. Flavour is moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the fairly dry finish. Body is medium, pretty lively carbonation. Rich and tasty Saison.

Bottle. Nose is saison yeast, melon, grapes, goesberry, hints of strawberry and peach a very faint hint of funk. Taste is honey, grape, peach, leading to blossom, pineapple, pepper and spice. The moutfeel is glossy and slick. This is a very nice, polished saison. It’s rich, sweet and well balanced. A great example, but I could never love it as much as a the rougher farmhouse style.

By now it should be clear that North Coast has a handle on the Belgian varieties. Still, it always throws me - in a good way - when I take a sip of their brews and realize this stuff is brewed in the U.S. Le Merle pours a straw-gold color. It has a spicy aroma with coriander and light yeast. Taste has lots of bread with notes of bright citrus, earth, and clove. Feel is bright, refreshing, smooth.

12fl oz. bottle from Club de Cervezas Pours a good-looking shiny golden color with orange-ish hues. Head is big white and lingering white head that recedes into a small cap. Aroma is really great, complex and characterful with a lot of barnyard, musty touches and some funk. Fruity esters dominate with mandarines, passion fruit and pommegranate shining above all else. Grapes and white wine give some additional complexity. Spicy traces come to the fore with warming, especially coriander, white pepper and some aromatic orange peel. Fantastic. Taste is mildly tart with fantastic fruity sweetness balancing out. Sour touches are complimented well by orange and grape flavors. A bit of spice of coriander and pepper. Chunks and bits of passionfruit and lemon. Amazing. Carbonation has a soft fizziness that caresses the tongue. Really smooth with a nice aftertaste. Massively drinkable. A bit champagnoise... A fantastic, complex Saison that I could drink every single day.
