3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500mL bottle. Hazy pale-orange pour with a HUGE, fizzy off-white head. Wheaty and yeasty aroma with some bananas, oranges and cloves. A little musty. The carbonation is just a bit too high and detracts a little from the taste. Still, thereís a really refreshing crispness. Tangy orange peel and lemon body with a grassy and straw-like slightly bitter, dry finish. Doughy tastes throughout. Orange rinds in the finish as well.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
pours a cloudy orange with frothy, lacy head. smells of citrus, spice, and straw-like grassy, and slightly bubblegummy farmhouse yeastiness. Yeast mixes with orange-like citrus with straw, grass, and earthy, rustic farmhouse character which is quite pleasant from an american brewery.

Excellent interpretation of the style from a Texanís perspective. I mean, I know a little bit about barnyards. Twas consumed prior to a couple of other massive beers and pollen and mold have taken their toll, but still recall much enjoyment. Have another that Iíll sample and fill in more details.

I was surprised to find this beer on the shelf. Cork shot 20 feet! Great carbonation with hazy golden color and nice white head. Mild tropical fruit and earthy hop aroma. Nice mouthfeel - zesty with fruity malts balance with dry snappy hops. Everyone at the table liked this beer. I think it is a solid offering from North Coast!

500ml corked bottle caught my eye while shopping at whole foods. I would have been beter off which the saison dupont which is rare in this area. Not bad but to much fruit flavor with nothing to balance it with.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice packaging, Iím a big fan of the 500ml corked bottle, somewhat of a rareity for a beer bottle. There was no pop when I opened the cork which was an early indication that the beer would be flat and it was. An ever so thin head lingered on the side of the glass. The color is a hazy light orange. A slightly fruity aroma hints that the flavor will be that of a Farmhouse ale. For the style I found it to be slightly overly malty and bitter, perhaps a bit more age in the bottle will help.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma reminds me of a cross between a light Orval and a geuze. So, I guess the yeast is Brettanomyces. Thankfully, the flavor wasnít overwhelming with this yeast flavor. Having said that, this is still a pretty good Saison. But for $6.99, this is a rip off. For $1 more, Iíd happily upgrade to Saison Dupont. Especially for a 750ml(25.4oz) compared to a 16.9oz Silver Jubilation

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty good, almost like a champagne beer more than anything else, which I guess is appropriate given the Jubilation aspect. Very cloudy light amber color. Nice when looking for something light and bubbly but still a good range of flavor.

Bottle. Orange-amber beer with a whitish head. Sweet malt aroma with some earthy yeastiness. Earthy flavor - spicey, citrus, slight bitterness, some herbal characteristics. Balanced flavor, finishes dry with a lingering earthy dustiness. Very drinkable with a great complex flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2006 9/28/05 Bottled. Pours a hazy yellow/gold color with a large white head. Yeast, bananas and pineapple aromas. Bubbly mouth feel. Malty flavor with notes of bananas, dough, and some other fruity flavors as well. Bitter/ dry aftertaste.
11/2/06 Bottled. Crystal clear darker yellow color with a huge, frothy white head. Dough and phenols in the aroma. Still very bitter with tons of fruit flavors. Iíve got two bottles of this that I never intended to age but they worked their way into the back of my beer cellar and I only just found them there. Too bad, I think theyíre a bit past their prime. The flavors seem to have broken apart rather than melding together. Very dry finish. Still very drinkable though. Iíll keep my original rating but I bumped appearance up to 5.
