Lively carbonation brings yeasty and lemony aroma. Sweet, fruity, complex flavors with a little tart sourness. Think lemons with the rind and even a little peel. Hints of floral hops. Warm, dry finish.

355 mL bottle. A lovely golden orange colour but just a ring of head remains. Sweet fruit and candy in the nose. This is an odd saison; it’s sweeter, fuller, lacking in wheat and funk, not dry enough. On the other hand, it’s a very good tasting beer.

bottle @ home. Almost clear orange colored with a small bubbled white head. Sweet and dry restrained nose with mild notes of orange zest, tangerines and red apples in good balance with some funk and a clean delicate note of pepper. Malty balanced background with biscuits, grains, some toffee, crackers and hay. As it gets warmer more phenolic aromas become evident of marzipan and pepper, Sweet slightly sour taste with some tartness. Dry initially with red fruits, oranges, pear, grass, wheat, hay and spices, some toffee. Mid taste hits with an unexpected big toffee sweetness and sticky carbonation for a short while. Finish is drier, a bit tart & grainy with marzipan, pears and a woody bitterness. Overall a really well balanced and good tasting beer, although not a prefect Saison interpretation.

Aromas of yeast and citrus. Dammit what a heavy flavor that strikes me with alcohol. The taste after a while the light butterscotch, yeast, citrus and of course alcohol. Light bitterness disappears fairly quickly but get a little foothold in the upper part of the mouth. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

must be bird week at the bocktown. on tap. Cleaner yellow. decent head. smells like a great tart beer but then I’m disappointed on the tongue. More like a sweeter, somewhat cloying palate. Not real bitter and locking in hops, this is a plus for a laget lover like me. Has a slight warming sensation going down the gullet. Rather fairly flat. Just wish it was a good tasting as the smell.

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Clear, pale gold. Thick, bubbly, lasting, white head. Lovely, toasty, granary bread. Soft, peachy fruit. Light yeast. Taste is yeasty dry. Banana sweet. Soft, chewy palate. Nice and airy. Finishes soft sweet, and yeasty dry. Nice saison, but finishes a little too sweet.

Dark gold/amber with rimming offwhite head; aroma is lightly herbal spicy notes of oregano and lavender(?); Flava is rich semi sweet and semi tart with notes of grain honey orange lemon; feels light yet silky and also foamy; finishes dry tart like a Pinot Grigio

Bottled, reserved for 1 year 4 months. Golden color, bubbling, almost no foam. Mellow Saison smell, light chicory and honey smell. The Saison spice smell is more mellow than a fresh saison, it also have light peach and citrus aroma. It’s a sweet beginning, citrus sweet sour zesty, honey and yellow peach’s mellow, subtle chicory spice. This is more fruity than saison’s spice. It feels like a half blood Belgium style golden ale and half blood saison. The second half feels like a warm double IPA, it has clear citrus and pine hoppy aroma. The sweetness fade and will be cover by some hoppy bitterness. This guy is about 1 year and 4 month old. It’s mainly sweet, not too sweet, light bitter. Citrus is the domain aroma, hops also have pine hint. The mellow honey make it feels very warm and nice. Saison blood give it some interesting farmhouse’s straw spice. 1 year reservation make those character more rounded as a pebble. I like it very much!

Draught at Backcountry Pizza. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, ripe fruits, yeast, coriander, earthy notes and grass. Bitter finish with citrus, yeast and ripe fruits. Good brew, closer to belgian strong ale than saison though.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours tiny hazy golden with a frothy offwhite head that leaves lots of soapy trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is estery and phenolic with biscuits, baked pears, marzipan, white pepper corns, hay, lemon zest and banana bread. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny bitter, estery and tiny phenolic with oatmeal cookies, hay, banana bread, pear skins, caramelized almonds, cereal, white pepper corns, leather, orange zest, lemon zest and dry soil. Mouthfeel is sparkling, lightly dry, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is slightly bitter, slightly estery and tiny phenolic with cereal, banana bread, hay, white pepper corns, pear skins, dry wood, orange zest and lemon zest. Bit cloying with banana esters. good, but would have preferred something more refreshing…
