arminjewell (100), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 17, 2009 Poured obsidian black with deep lasting tan head, smelled of chocolate and coffee, some alcohol. Thick on the palate, with a large coffee/chocolate rush at the forefront and balanced out well by the hop’s bitterness. No alcohol present in the taste, and overall an excellent impy stout. fromred2green (141), , Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours near black with a small, medium brown head. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a hint of coffee and alcohol. Flavor is mostly chocolate with a slight coffee aftertaste. Despite the 9% ABV, it’s hard to taste the alcohol here. Feels thick and creamy in the mouth, in a good way. All in all, a great beer. dimenhetfield (157), , Florida, USA Jul 15, 2009 Two words...Simply Amazing. The perfect balance of flavor and drinkability (isnt that already a beer slogan?) An absolutly great stout if I’ve ever had one. The aroma is roasty and warm with a little bit of fruit characters. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 15, 2009 Thanks curly! Pours a ring of tan head that has legs and a little bit of lace. Smells of toast, roast, coffee, brown sugar, and a burnt bitterness. Flavor is the same. Body is heavy and full. Nothing lacking. This is awesome! andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Jul 12, 2009 Creamy, not so full bodied, slick imperial stout with all the classical components, a bit hot and too hoppy fresh but fantastic just after some short time in the cellar. Lovely coffe, chocolate, caramell, fudge flavour ending dry and bitter. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 11, 2009 pitch black with huge tan head. on nitrogen, so a very smooth moutfeel and carbonation. roasty and sweet malt to the nose. initial bitterness followed by a lot of sweetness, that really balances this brew well, before some roasty and chocolatey notes intertwined with nice citrusy hop bitterness. perfectly crafted, no faults Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2009 Bottle. Somehow I’ve always zipped past this one. Aroma of a light coccoa and light roast malt. Poured a nice dark black. Flavor was a dark coffee and chocolate jst enough bittering hops. Full bodied and just enough on the finish. Overall. Mighty tasty.
