COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Bottle. Opaque black pour. Big roasted malty aromas, full of chocolate and coffee. Thick mouthfeel, and flavor (when not drunk ice cold) is full of roasted malts, chocolate (maybe unsweet choc), coffee, and dark fruit - maybe plum. Finished with a decent bitter bite.

Pours a black colour with a small, off-white and very lacey head. First aroma impressions are molasses, coffee and fruitiness. The first sips are pretty bitter and coffeish. After a few swallows you can actually get some caramel, raspberries and plum. I wouldn’t recommend drinking this beer ice cold. If you’ve been storing it in the fridge, let it sit out and warm up a bit. This beer turned out to be more complex than initial tastes indicated. I like it a lot.

Bottled. Dark brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Nice aroma of chocolate and coffee with notes of fruits. Flavour of chocolate and coffee with lots of roasted notes. Nice.

Cappy multi coloured head. Taste at first is kind of erm..harsh. Second sip is where this old man gets ya. Solid. A taste as thick and rich as the colour it pours.....I swear this badbwoy had me holding my hand up like the bloke on the bottle while looking at pictures of Lenin’s tomb. The alcohol is is certainly placed well with the overall roast malt blended nicely with chocolate hints and coffee placements. This follows up loverly to the old engine oil I just sank. booya

12 oz. bottle: Opaque black with tan sustaining head. Lots of roasted malt thrown in some sweeter malt. Roast and toasty flavor, some alcohol as well. A great beer, but within its style there are people doing Impy’s better.

A black, black beer with a dark cocoa head. The head is a chocolate malt-o-meal type of a hue. Smells like dark chocolate, coffee and raw cocoa. Medium lacing. Very thick mouthfeel and perhaps the most buttery beer I’ve every had. Tastes of unsweetened choclate, coffee and a hint of sweetness. Finishes with a mild hop bitterness and lots of butter. What a nightcap. Not my favorite impreial stout, but impressive. Not as complex as some, but oh so buttery. I good by from Cost Plus World Market.

Jet black colour with thick foamy mocha brown head. Roasted coffee malt nose. Bitter roasted coffee malt taste with lingering bitter roasted malt finish.

I was hoping that this would be something special, but it turned out to be a a minor dud, Smells of a choclate and floral bouquet with taste of coffee and a liqorice aftertaste. Not the worst but was expecting more

One of the most handsome brews around. Beautiful Cappicino head, creamy with carmel edges. Dark coffee color.Aroma moderate. Flavor a nice a nice deep balance of sweet, deep roasted malts, and a touch of bitter. Not the most complex or lingering, but satisfying.
