BIG and I mean HUGE bitter chocolate flavors throughout the beginning, middle, and aftertaste. Aroma is light almost a little watery very misleading. This stuff is amazing! Pours black with a very thin, beige head. Aroma isnt very strong...burnt toffee, black coffee, and alcohol. Flavor of black coffee, alcohol, and burnt oak. Warms the roof of the mouth rather than the tongue...an aftertaste, but a nice one. Overall I think its a very good imperial stout...Id have to say its not as good as Flying Dog Gonzo...not as much flavor as Bells Expedition but wayyy more drinkable...Could drink a few. Very good beer. spaceycasey (10), , Texas, USA

Chocolate notes complemented by toast and sweet malt and the right amoung of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, finishes slightly dry. An amazing imperial stout! Taste starts with dark ripe fruits, sweet burnt surgars, tar, finished with spices and a light roast malt. Thick palate, more fizzy than creamy. Very good balance, wow im a happy man right now. He could murder my Anastasia any day! rwaters (27), Anchorage, Alaska, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Black pour, large coffee-brown head, simmering down to a film and a respectable lace. Aroma is very chocolaty, ash also present. In the mouth, the chocolate and smoke finish is preceding by a highly fruity first impression, peaches dominate, some citrus, a little melon. Only flaw is a certain dis-harmony between the fruits and the dust on the finish. Full bodied, mildly effervescent. Delicious beer. beerthusiast (5), , Colorado, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Bottle from Total Beverage, solid black body, brown head but head retention and lacing was not good, light to medium body, had a weaker flavor than anticipated, on a good note this beer was very drinkable, overall decent brew but it was a let down.
