This beer pours as dark as night, even the head is tinted brown. Cold an aroma of chocolate, coffee and licorice hit you over the head hard. As it warms and sits for a bit the aromas, as well as the flavors really start to pan out. This is a really hardy drinker. I had a very bitter taste on my tongue for parts of this. It was a great beer but not the best stout I have had.

Pretty amazing beer! Tons of nice flavours such as, hardly roasted malts, caramell, cascade (or similar citrusy-hop flavour), toffee, and some honey too! I am lucky to have three more of this in my cellar. :)

One of the blackest Imperial Stouts that I have ever had, if that is even possible. Has a lasting brown head. Smells very boozy with some very deep roasted and chocolate notes. Lots of alcohol on the tongue and in the palate. Deep bitter flavor with espresso, chocolate, and a tiny bit of citrus. Very good, but maybe a tad too intense for my tastes.

A very tasty stout, and an old favorite. The beer smells strongly of roasted malt, and a syrupy balsamic aromas. Flavors are very strongly accented by coffee & chocolate, along with dried fruits, a little soy sauce, and a good hop bitterness. There is a faint and plesant alcohol warmth to the beer. The beer looks very nice with it’s thick black color and creamy thick tan head.

Pours jet black with huge frothy head and a thick coating of lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops as well as roasty malt, espresso and chocolate notes. Flavor is a blast of soothing toasty malt with bitter chocolate and a slight hop bite. Extremely roasty and powerful but not overbearing. Alcohol unnoticeable. Palate is smooth fulfilling, heavy and rich. Finish is bone dry. An excellent offering from north coast- well balanced and robust though not overly complex. Highly recommended.

almost opaque black with a tinge of mahogany, full 3 finger tan head which lingers long. obscenely good lacing. aromas of dark bitter chocolate. Creaaamy mouthfeel. bitter and chocolatey and slightly roasted, well hopped near the finish. Not as complex as some imp stouts, very little fruits. But very warming and subtle.

Near black colored with red hints, medium sized beige head. Roasted and chocolaty aroma with mild vanilla and oak tones, hops also here. Medium to full bodied, challencing IS with strong hops. Flavor also starts with sweet roastiness and mild vanilla, hops come up in aftertaste. Not too balanced with sweetness in start and strongly dry aftertaste with slight alcohol.
