It poured pitch black with a thick one inch foamy head that didnít want to die untl the last drop was gone from the glass. The lacing is thick and clingy. The smell is roasted malt with coffee mixed really well. The taste is bitter but very sweet having the hops combine nicely with the roasted malt and coffee. The beer gets sweeter as it goes. There is an ever so slight caramel in the taste as well. The palate is medium to thick bodied. Overall, this beer never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times I have it.

Pours black with moderate head. Smell a heady chorale of chocolate, coffee & charcoal. Smooth drinking that tastes as it smells with a smidge more hops than usual for the style. Great beer. Has been great for a while. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

L: dark, very dark, and a big fluffy tan head that wonít quit. S: plenty of chocolate and coffee, no real surprises here. T: those same smells come through in the taste, along with a bitterness that feels like a strong-roasted coffee, and quality bitter dark chocolate. F: itís quite dry and roasty, very full-bodied, yet can be drank a quite quickly, with a smoothness that keeps drawing you in for another sip. O: excellent imperial stout that even hits the spot in the summer months.

Bottle at home. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, espresso, liquorice, fruits, plum, chocolate, hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a medium bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Quite a fruity hoppy profile for an Imperial Stout. If this were a bit fuller this would be an absolute beast. As it stands, it has very high drinkability and smoothness. Damn tasty.

Donker bruin rood bier met een goede beige schuim kraag. Ruikt fruitig, chocolade. Smaakt koffie, geroosterd, fruitig, chocolade. Iets te fruitig? voor een stout.

Veel schuim dat wel mooi inzakt. Zwart. Ruikt vooral cacao, lekker. Weer ook de chocolade bitterheid. Vrij weinig nasmaak. En iets teveel carbo.

Tap on Nitro at gravity, pours black, aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts, taste is similar but more mild, I feel like the nitro took away from this some, will retry.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2015 (330ml) In a snifter ) Grate to purchase this in the UK for the first time . Roast coffee ,bitter chocolate nose. Dark intense base with a beige foamy head that coats the glass like a khaki sand trail . Smooth and creamy coffee and dark chocolate , rich and bitter roast interaction . I will re-pete .

bottle 355 ml, pours dark brown wth shny reddish reflexes what is a sign that itís quite clear. The brownish colored head is very pillowy and stable. Aroma is mainly chocolatte and coffee witht some additional wood, caramel, soy sauce, roasted grain and a touch of dried fruits. Aroma is quite complex but itís not very intensive. Medium bodied, I wish it would be a bit heavier. n taste medium sweetness with a lot of roasty bitterness that is quite intensive for the style. Finish is a bit ashy what dsturbs a bit the comfort of drinking.
