COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Thank goodness! We’ve had a hard streak of 5 bad beers in a row. Finally found the pot at the end of the rainbow. Extremely tasty with a nice aftertaste to boot! Definitely has become one of our top go to beers.

Bottle bought at The Bottle Shop Hong Kong. Appearance: Pours a pitch black colour with a dense, crazy medium tan head with good retention. Also leaves quite a lot of lacing. Aroma: Moderately strong roasted malt and coffee beans aroma with caramel, resin, dark stone fruits. Also with a hint of vanilla and burnt wood notes. Taste: Very complex and strong flavour. It starts with some mild, sweet chocolate and mocha taste. Then the medium-high roasted malt and coffee beans bitterness comes in with some subtle hop bitterness. At the end is some tobacco and smoky, with a touch of alcohol. Palate: Medium to full body with smooth and creamy texture. Long-lasting roasted malt and dark fruit aftertaste, with warming finish. Average carbonation. Overall: A really classic and traditional russian imperial stout. The taste and the palate are just spot on, especially that complex and bold smokiness and the roasted malt flavour. The bitterness is also just perfect and very balanced. Goes on favourite list.

Wow, kind of a crazy good cross between an imperial stout and a black IPA. Super tasty on nitro.

Tap @Barley Mow, Bristol. Medium, off-white, creamy head, very dark colour, nearly black, nice lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cookies. Bitter taste, full body, long and bitter finish, oily. Very well balanced, not too heavy, fantastic.

Dużo czekolady i lekkie nuty chmielu lekko ziołowego i wiśni. Likierowe. Alkoholu nie wyczuwam. Zdecydowanie godne polecenia.

Rated world class and I'm sure it is but RIS is not my favorite style. Prefer straight up stouts and porters. Too much dark fruit and tobacco for my liking. If you love RIS you will likely love this but I will avoid this category from now on. Prefer chocolate and vanilla forward stouts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Super dark chocolate with a bitter finish. The head is everlasting with a tan colour. You can definitely smell the alcohol on the nose. In the end it is a great beer, try it once and try it again.

Miam.

Piwo klarowne w kolorze czarnym z imponujaca bezowa piana. W aromacie gorzka czekolada i kawa. W smaku czekoladki z likierem, kwaskowa kawa i lekkie nuty palone. Czuc tez troche jakby suszone czerwone owoce. Polslodkie ze srednia goryczka. Na finiszu popiolowosc i tyton jak w popielniczce. Wysycenie na niskim poziomie, gladkie i aksamitne w odbiorze. Wiecej sie dzieje w smaku niz w aromacie.
