Draft at Yard House in a shaker glass. Pitch black with unusually creamy tan head for an imperial stout. More bitter finish than I prefer for this style, overwhelms the palate somewhat.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark, thick cola brown. Aroma is smoky with hints of coffee. Flavor is full of smoky chocolate malt. Drier than I expected. Coffee and tobacco. Definitely very good.

The best there is. Drink three of these and nightly night. Best stout on the market. Sorry Guinness. Only wish it was easier to find in Pennsylvania

North coast makes good beer, and this is no exception. Obviously, looking at its rating, I’m not alone in realizing how good this is.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at TNT Taisho opening party.
L: dark, very dark, and a big fluffy tan head that won’t quit.
S: plenty of chocolate and coffee, no real surprises here.
T: those same smells come through in the taste, along with a bitterness that feels like a strong-roasted coffee, and quality bitter dark chocolate.
F: it’s quite dry and roasty, very full-bodied, yet can be drank a quite quickly, with a smoothness that keeps drawing you in for another sip.
O: excellent imperial stout that even hits the spot in the summer months.

This is a nice strong imperial, chocolaty stout, good flavor, with an okay after taste. Great aroma, and it looks like a chocolate milkshake. Great mouth feel. Overall a nice beer is happily drink again, but wouldn’t seek out.
