COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Nose is of chocolate and slight booze. Taste is smooth dark chocolate with some booze. Some dark fruit in there too. Deep and complex.

Opaque black with a relatively large beige head consisting of commendable retention. Vigorous aromatics containing notes of dark chocolate, dark roast, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and nuts. Viscous and smooth texture. Utterly delectable flavour managed by the aforementioned notes with emphasis on dark chocolate and roast with a bitter roast finish. Wonderfully robust.

355ml bottle. Pour pitch black with a tall and dense creamy mocha foam. Sweet coffee, cigarillo, vanilla aroma. Full body, medium carbonation. A rush of comforting liquorish roasted malt cover my mouth. This is not my first, a drink this on a regular basis, thanks to the US border close to Montreal. I discover this beer on tap at Library Ale House in California, then I drove my motorcycle directly to Fort Bragg to drink it on tap on on cask.

butelka, warka do nienapisali :) fajna, trwala dosc i ladnie brudzaca pokal piana. aromat intensywny, slodko, ciemno owocowy, porto, chleb ciemny, czekolada, bakalie jakies (rodzynki). generalnie obiecuje cos slodkiego. pojawiaja sie tez kawowe nuty, toffi, wanilia, palonosc. W ustach sredni- pelni, dosc gladki, srednio- wysycony, mniej slodki niz aromaty obiecywaly, mocno palony i mocno goryczkowy. bardzo dobry acz zarazem nie sprostal swojej legendzie ;)

Genieten!

Keg at The Junkyard, Nottingham. A black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, some alcohol, slight brown sugar and subtle smoke. Taste of roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, some bourbon, slight alcohol, a little brown sugar, a hint of caramel and subtle treacle. Full bodied and a creamy texture. A long, roasted, treacley finish. A superb imperial stout, really rich, roasty and creamy. Full of spicy, roasted, chocolatey flavours, slightly boozy and goes down really well. Great.

Pullo @ Saveur-Biere. Kaatuu snifteriin mustana, melko paksun noin 2,5 sormen paksuisen vaahdon suojaamana. Tuoksussa on reilusti paahdetta ja tummaa suklaata, lakritsisuuden tukemana. Hieman kermaisen puolelle suklaa kääntyy nuuskuttelemalla. Tuoksusta 8+. Upeaa tasapainoa, todella laadukkaasti tehty IS. Vähemmän humaloitu jos olisi ollut, niin todellinen täysosuma olisi edessä.

From bottle, pours with the viscosity of motor oil. Black like Putin’s heart, deep smokey flavor with a smooth finish.

Sampled this lovely concoction at the North Coast Brewery tap room, and it immediately shot to the top of my brew list. Hearty feel and a full, rich flavour; this is very drinkable and satisfying for dark beef lovers, and surprisingly smooth.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2016 Excellent. Pretty intense aroma, which is roasted malts, some coffee and light hops. Taste is sweet and bitter. Great presence of malts and sugar. Overall, pretty balanced, with medium carbonation and a long-dry finish.
