Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Great shelf stout. Love that I can find this at my local store. One of the better easy-to-find stouts that are out there.

Espuma abundante con retención más bien pobre. Aroma muy torrefacto, con chocolate, sin mucha complejidad. Final muy amargo y torrefacto, con algo de astringencia. Poco cremosa para lo que esperaba.

Pours black with a white slightly tan head. Nose is coffee and milk chocolate. Taste is loaded with powdered cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla, with a bitter finish. Definitely above average. Solid, reliable and always good!!

Black color with a frothy beige head with medium durationand nice lacework. Aroma has notes of coffee beans, chocolate and vanilla hints. Flavor is roasty, notes of black ripe fruit, mainly raisins and plumbs, coffee and black chocolate. Smooth sensation in the final with roasted and light bittery notes.

Tap @ Bishop Arms Hornsgatan. Smoky and burnt aroma of mocha and booze. Black in the glass with a bubbly tan head. Enormous taste !! As if someone hits an iron pipe straight into my jaw. Hops, smoke, licorice, chocolate. Many complex flavors, sweet and dry at the same time.

Tasted on Nitro @ Meddlesome Moth Nose - toasted nuts and light coffee beans. Taste - A thinner palate than I would like. It enters soft and light with expression beans and chocolate. Finish is a tad bitter as it leans on the Java for weight. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
