COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Lots of everything! Big flavor, dark and delicious. One or two is enough unless you’re looking for trouble. By far the best beer North Coast offers.

Pours very dark ruby Amber with massive. Creamy tan head that stays for a long time. Aroma is chocolate upfront and some dark fruit. Taste follows the aroma with some notes of vanilla coffee. Medium mouth feel. Damn good stout! It doesn’t get much better than this.

Drank with Thijs 28-9-2014. Good stout. Starts a little bit neutral but the aftertaste is damn impressive! Hints of coffee, and alcohol. Nice rich. Very nice foam.

Poured deep inky black with a small tan head. Aroma of fudge, roast malt, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Full but smooth body, flavour as the aroma, very, very well balanced. Dangerously drinkable.

Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen-dense.

You can put con on the foam solo thick.Burnt toffee, caramal notes in aroma.Soft boozines in taste. Coffe and burned bitterness afterwards. Intense. Few sips seems enough.

A rich aroma of cocoa, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Great looking ebony color with a lasting medium head. Great taste, of cocoa and espresso with a watery feel and a bitter chalky finish.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2014 12 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma is boozy, roasty, and sweet, with hints of licorice, chocolate, prunes, and leather. Mouthfeel is dry, with a bitter and astringent finish. The malt sugars have mostly been converted to alcohol, leaving little residual sweetness, which would have been nice to balance out the massive roasted grain bill. All in all, a damn fine beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle from Whole Foods in Tanasbourne. Aroma is rich almost chocolatey. The beers pours beautiful dark and velvety. Taste is not over the top sweet. First taste is rich, but a bit chalky. Finishes sweet and very smooth. I can see why this beer has a "cult following".

Very good aroma, amazing poor, great tan head, dark black body. A very complex taste with a warming finish, a bit sour and bitter for my taste but that’s a Russian Imperial Stout. Overall an amazing example of a Russian Imperial Stout.
