Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

Sweetish, roasty and burnt malty aroma with hints of vegetables. Sweet, milk sugarish burnt malty flavor finishes quite dry and coffeeish. Very mildly bitter. Smooth, creamy palate.

Roasted malty full flavored imperial stout with a hoppy balance. Not sweet. Almost has a light body for a Russian imperial. More hoppy than some. Nice and a solid stout but not as good as it is rated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very brown/black with beautiful thick brown head. Aroma of blueberries I think and a distant burnt toast aroma. The beer goes down smooth. A really nice palate. The taste is quite nicely balanced but rather sweet cholatety which I am not a great fan of.

The truly undisputed and highly reputed Russian imperial stout. North Coast is one of my top 10 favorite breweries all time almost exclusively because of Rasputin. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, the head produced was a monstrous 3 fingers of dark tan, dense Whipped cream. Pillowy and inviting like a craft milkshake almost. Truly gorgeous in the glass with a oily black color. The aromas are inviting with rich cocoa, caramel, dark dried fruits and licorice. The flavor is more of the same elements in the aroma with and added depth of coffee beans lending toward a comforting dry finish with a slight alcohol warmth in the belly.

bottle conditioned. served 7degree in a tulip glass. finished in 30mins. very dark pour with big tan smooth head, lasted less than 5mins. bit hoppy, malty, complex spice, soy sauce, banana like aroma. mid-full body, starts with roasted coffee, dark bread, malty, slight tart, sweet, dark chocolate in the middle, ester, oil, bitter in the finish. warmth but tiny hint of alcohol notes. intensive but very drinkable beer! well contracsted! today is 22nd Sep, exactly 6month the day it is bottled. enjoy, rasputin recalls!

Bottle. Aroma of chocolate with big amount of dried fruits plus some roastiness. In taste medium sweet with chocolate and fruits. Medium to full body, could be more oily, feels a bit thin for ris, soft carbonation, bitter and alcoholic finish. OK, but could be more complex.

Nose is some roast, dried fruits like plums. Dark black pour, low head. Taste is dark roast, plum, maybe fig. Some warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, slightly bitter. Good, but not as good as I remember. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wysycenie niskie do średniego, alkohol ładnie ułożony, średnio gęste, lekko wyklejające w odbiorze.
