Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown with a large, bubbly off-white head that faded to a ring after several sips. Very pleasant aroma pf caramel, brown sugar and alcohol. The flavor is very nice with caramel, brown sugar, dates, and a little bit of peat. The alcohol leaves a warming sensation at the swallow, but in no way interferes with the enjoyment of this beer. Well crafted and very enjoyable. blueturk (68), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 5, 2007 2007 vintage. Poured with a small, slightly off white head. Little hop aroma. Some carmel and toffee notes in the aroma. Lot’s of raisin flavor and big upfront bitterness. Strong Alcohol. This one should age well. Definitely need to lay this one down for a year or two. mystiksc (46), los angeles, California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2007 12 oz bottle, 2004 Vintage, consumed 10/07. Pours a clear dark reddish amber with a small tight bubbled beige head with amazing retention for a 3 plus year old beer. A good bit of visible carbonation. The nose is burnt toffee and delightful oxidation with some madiera suggestions. Some brown sugar and alcohol as well. The age really works well with this one. More madiera and toffee than cardboard (though there is a little on the finish). No sweetness, though some brown sugar and hints of coffee. Very well hidden alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. No sticky of cloying maltiness left. This really is nothing like fresh Old Stock. This rating doesn’t really belong, it’s almost like a vintage Old Stock entry should exist. Skyview (4020), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Sampled a 2003 vintage at Badgerben’s Cellar Reduction Night. Pours a dark brownish amber brew with a fast dissolving off-whtie head that leaves behind a fine film and ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, fruity melons, butterscotch and some alcohol. Aging has really done a fine job for this beverage taste. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium to full bodied, very light carbonation with a powdery caramel malt and candi sugar flavor. Finish is slightly dry with plenty of alcohol in the aftertaste. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
