COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As a continuation of North Coast Brewing Co.’s commitment to quality, our Old Stock Ale is crafted in the tradition of our critically acclaimed Pranqster Belgian Style Golden Ale and Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. It’s brewed with classic floor-malted Maris Otter Pale Malt and Fuggles Hops imported from England, so it’s a beer to be served proudly. Like a fine wine, North Coast’s Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round-out and mellow with age. North Coast Brewing Co. Old Stock Ale is a vintage dated ale. We produce a small quantity each year and it remains available from release date until our stock is depleted.

I had the 750 - tsunami relief bottle. Pretty stoked to drink this, I have been getting into bigger more barleywine type brews lately. Overall I wasn’t blown away. The aroma is sweet with a sharpness I can’t quite nail down, the palate is similar. There is this bite to it that I can’t explain. It must just be the heat from the booze.

Sweet molasses nose. Dark Amber, mild head. Sweet molasses with hint of citrus sweet cover and finish of honey. Thick mouth feel. Very good. Kinda lack luster for the hype

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2016 Bottle, vintage 2015. Dark amber, no head. Strong malt flavour. Caramel, chocolate, dried grape, alcohol, wood. Wine-ous at nose. Light bitterness, moderate sweet. Strong carbonation. Really owes the name of Old Ale. Could fit to wine lovers

355ml bottle from Systembolaget, vintage 2015. Deep mahogany / ruby, several small particles in the glass. Small tan head that disappears quickly and completely without leaving lacing. Sweet malty aroma, dried fruit, raisins, red apple, toffee and marzipan. Full-bodied, chewy, smooth and medium carbonated. The taste follows the aroma warm and sweet. Red apple, figs, dates, caramel, vanilla, sweet licorice and caramelized sugar. Warming bourbon notes in the finish.

Seffle (455) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - JUN 3, 2016
Bottle from SB 160603. Vintage 2015. Pours a garnet/amber with a very weak beige head. Sweet fruity nose with raisins and dried fruit over molasses and malt. The palate is too alcoholsweet. Rather unbalanced. Should have been aged more, perhaps. Orherwise nice flavours. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice Belgian-esque flavour to this full bodied, high alcohol beer. Nothing off, very caramelly, with the other main flavours coming from the yeast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
