COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As a continuation of North Coast Brewing Co.’s commitment to quality, our Old Stock Ale is crafted in the tradition of our critically acclaimed Pranqster Belgian Style Golden Ale and Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. It’s brewed with classic floor-malted Maris Otter Pale Malt and Fuggles Hops imported from England, so it’s a beer to be served proudly. Like a fine wine, North Coast’s Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round-out and mellow with age. North Coast Brewing Co. Old Stock Ale is a vintage dated ale. We produce a small quantity each year and it remains available from release date until our stock is depleted.

hazy dark amber to brown colour, moderate sized, creamy yellowish-beige-ish off-white head; aroma of herbal liqueur, floral-honey notes, some burnt sugar, woody notes, some grape and dried apple hints of anise (?) and minimal spicy alcohol; taste of herbal liqueur, syrup and burnt sugar, dried fruits, medicinal bittery notes and significant amount of alcohol; really special ’beer’ - more like a liqueur with beer-ish notes than a beer :-)

Aromat umiarkowany, przypomina mocne belgijskie i angielskie piwa. Jest chleb, karmel, nieco melano, czekolady, orzechów i nut drożdżowych (w stylu quadrupla). Sporo alkoholu (rum?) i nutki a’la drewniane.

Wygląd: barwa głęboko miedziana do czerwonej, wyraźnie zmętniona, z pływającymi drobinkami. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, niemal kremowa, umiarkowanej wielkości i podobnie trwała, ale przy takiej mocy to do wybaczenia.

Smak: dość wysoka słodycz i spora dawka alkoholu. Nuty karmelu, czekolady, melano, suszonych owoców. Goryczka powyżej średniej, wzmacniana przez alkohol. Zdecydowanie tęga pełnia, raczej niskie wysycenie i słodki lekko słodowy finisz z z wyraźną nutą alkoholową rozgrzewającą przełyk. Jak dla mnie bardziej belgijskie niż angielskie. Być może złagodniałoby z wiekiem. Spodziewałem się więcej.

Tämän oluen heikoin osio on ulkonäkö. Punertavan ruskea olut hyvin niukalla, beigellä vaahdolla. Toimii.

Bottle. Hazy hazelnut brown with a medium sized diminishing tan head. Nuts, caramel, syrup, honey, warming alcohol, dark dried fruits. Full body, lots of sweetness but balanced by alcohol. Long warming finish. Fairly sweet and alcoholic.

Vint. 2015. Superbe.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2016 Bottle, vintage 2015. Dark amber, no head. Strong malt flavour. Caramel, chocolate, dried grape, alcohol, wood. Wine-ous at nose. Light bitterness, moderate sweet. Strong carbonation. Really owes the name of Old Ale. Could fit to wine lovers
