3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle. Pours clear brown amber with light tan minimal head. Maybe glassware related. Vinous aromas, wood, toffee, caramel and pitted fruits. Clean flavour profile, complex malt body, medium full body. Toast coming through on the finish with a light sweetness. Earthy hop character is evident with a touch of hotness on the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle, vintage 2012. Mahogany color, thin white head. Toffee, malt, wood and sweetness in aroma. Toffee lingering, some alcohol stickyness, malt and some dried fruits. Long sweet finish. Slightly unbalanced and alcohol coming through too much to be enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, vintage 2012. Pours amber in color with an off-white head. Sweet brown sugar and dark
syrup in aroma. Also some dark fruits and vinous notes are present. Quite pleasant aroma
indeed. Dark syrup, malty sweetness and vinous notes in taste. Scaringly easy to drink despite
the quite high abv.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a deep amber color with a caramel aroma. Taste is clean but finishes with a burn. Nice high alcohol flavor with a mellow malt flavor. The burn fades quickly, and leaves the chest with a warm tingle. A good beer for the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had a 2011 vintage. Decent Barleywine. Pours brown with a just a tinge of red. Slight white head. Scent is hay, grass, and molasses. Despite age, hop characted still existed. Interested to see if this tastes more like a IIPA when fresh. Nice beer. Might like to do a vertical someday. Bottle - Received in Trade

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
2014 bottle poured into a snifter. Aroma was somewhat boozy. Appearance was a clear red amber with a very small light tan head that rapidly vanished. Taste was fairly boozy with dark fruits, prunes, raisins, plums. Palate was excellent. This beer is definitely a sipper and can use some age. I have multiple years of this beer and they can be aged a number of years with great results. I highly recommend setting some aside.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Partial vertical for Chubby Liver. 2013, 2012, and 2007. Will rerate this some day when I have one bottle all to myself, but: amber pour. Aroma is huge on raisins when fresh, with the raisins chilling and mellowing more as the age comes in. Toffee, caramel, and raisins/plums, but the raisin really is prominent here. Surprisingly, as I donít care for real raisins, this was one of my favorites on the night. Full body, mellow and delicious at any age. Love a beer that is just as great aged as it is fresh.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
2013 vintage. Pours a amber color with little to no head. Aromas of toffee, dark fruit, port wine. Taste consists of pure maple sugar syrup with a small bitterness. Very sweet. Flavors of caramel, maple fudge, dough, figs, Bleh. This is completely terrible. No.
