2011 Vintage. 375mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is gorgeous, with loads of dark fruits (prunes, dates and figs), brandy, and brown sugar. Flavour is luxurious, with complex notes of brandy, dark dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Quite alcoholic without any cloying sweetness or uncomfortable burn. Elegant and complex. A world class barley wine.

Brown color, small head. The aroma develops positively; it has subtle and great notes of dark fruits, raisins, vanilla, alcohol; light tobacco later; gorgeous. The alcohol is so strong that the body perception is affected; lean malt flavor, moderately sweet, some vanilla, lightly biscuity, a lot of alcohol. Good beer, too boozy though.

Bottle - Boozy and brandy, a bit of a burn and caramel. Deep copper with no head. Fig, raisin, toffee, raisin and a long sweet brown sugar. Fantastic except for the nose. Decadent and brilliant.

Bottle, shared by Johan at his place, thanks mate. Deep brown chestnut pour with ring of white foam. Aroma is really enticing, tons of sweet malty notes, caramel, light brandy, raisins, super complex. Taste is rich, sweet but never cloying, very well hidden alcohol, super tasty, rich caramel, toasted malt. Palate is full bodied, mouth coating, really comforting warmth. I haven’t appreciated a malty American beer this much in a while, this reminds me how much I loved old stock.

Bottle shared big thanks to MrHangover. Pours dark brown with a ring beige head. Aroma of molasses, leather, raisins, tobacco, wood, overripe dark fruits, fudge and brown sugar. Flavour is heavy sweet but in a great and no way cloying way. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Awesome!

On tap at the Toronado 20th anniversary party. Dark brown, fairly inky. Wan head that recedes fairly quickly, leaving an oily liquid. Aroma is intense oak, tobacco, chocolate, figs. Wow! Flavor is intensely malty, woody, subdued fruitiness. Very creamy and rich. Rather sweet finish, very thick. This stuff is fantastic.

Deep Amber brown pour with a thin ring of off white head ... Aroma is of booze, raisins, brandy, oak, caramel malts, a bit nutty and roasted malts .... Taste is of brandy, oak, raisins, caramel malts, little nutty, dark berries, some warming booze and a dry bitter bite .... Finish is dry sweet and malty with a lingering brandy and oak .... Brandy really comes through in this complex brew
