Old Stock Cellar Reserve is a one-time, small batch, limited release that has been aged in oak whiskey barrels. The aging process gives this world-class beer an added layer of complexity. A memorable drink that should be enjoyed as a completely unique offering. Originally 14.7 ABV.

750 ml bottle 2011 vintage of course, nice holding it two years before selling it! Dark muddy water color with flat CO 2. Aroma is almonds, raisins, brandy and a little chocolate fudge aspect. Nice!

The flavor is rich and decadent. I canít claim to know a lot about brandy but damn this is complex. Layers of crazy flavor, maple syrup, vanilla, almonds upfront with a light port wine flavor in the center. It has some some light oxidation in the form of dark fruit, rum soaked figs, burnt sugar and plums. If you enjoyed this young, same on you! This has developed really nicely. Finish is sweet with a hint of booze leading to a warming sensation down the throat. Layers of rich malty goodness, hot damn!

2011 bottle. Pours murky brown with floating chunks, but I expect thatís because the bottle was sitting on its side for awhile. Aroma: beautiful. Fucking wow. Brown sugar, brandy-soaked raisins, leather, vanilla. Damn. Taste: sweet, amazing vanilla raisin and leather. Surprisingly dry finish, which is followed by waves of sexy. Full, velvety body. Overall: goddamn, this is awesome.

Pours a deep mahogany color with a finger of khaki foam. Beautiful balance on this one... the nose and palate really come together with a sweet silky mouthfeel. Big toasted toffee, tootsie roll, creamy vanilla, musky oak, boozy heat. Delicious !

2011 vintage at the Big Texas Beer Fest. Brown amber pour with a white head. The aroma and flavor of this beer are incredible. I get some big dark fruit and brandy notes as well as some toffee and a hint of oak. There is also a good bit of vanilla. Medium to thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Awesome beer.

Bottle, thanks to cards04. Big aromas of dark fruits and brandy. Very hot boozy flavour, big fruits, oak and brandy, a little bread, vinous grape notes. Best barleywine I've ever tried.

Thanks maltser85 for this beauty. Pours an iced tea color. No head. Aromas are intense dry fruit, sherry, brandy, coconut. Flavors are sweet dark fruits, brandy with a hot boozy finish. A flat palate. This is excellent. Glad i shared this with friends. This is a monster.

(On tap at World of Beer-Cherry Creek, was told it was aged in a Cognac barrel? Close enough probably...) Murky copperish brown under a thin ring of white head. Super complex and amazing aroma of Cognac and rich caramel, oak char, plum, and a touch of orange zest and more sugary caramel (and more cognac). Oh man thatís amazing to smell. The flavor has a candy sugar sweetness with a little bourbony warmth, lots of char and caramel, lots of fig pudding and warm oak and more plum. Layered, fruity sweet and warm with a lovely brew all around. Sippable by the fire at a social gala.

This one poured a lighter brown with a small beige head. Aroma was of spirits, caramel, oak, and dark fruits. Flavor was similar, pretty smooth and solid BA barleywine, but just didnít have that wow factor for me.

Bottle shared at 2014 Ratebeer Barleywine Tasting. Pours a dark brown color with a slight white foam head. Aromas of dark fruits, raisins, pretty big caramel and vanilla. Sweet taste with a chewy body. Nice flavor from the brancy but by no means hot. Really great stuff.
