500ml bottle from drewbeerme, thanks Andrew! Looks like swamp water, murky dark brown. Light brandy aroma, nice and rich and malty. Sweet, like candy, very freaking enjoyable. (1074)

500 ml bottle from a tasting (2011 vintage)from notes. Pours a dark reddish copper color with a small beige ring; not much carbonation. The aroma is about what I would have expected: rich caramel, brandy, vanilla, wood, some ripe fruits, and perhaps a touch of brown sugar. There was some booze, but I expected more. The flavor was much of the same: sweet caramel, vanilla, brandy, wood and ripe fruits. Again, the booze works with this. Medium-full to full bodied, smooth.

500ml 2011 bottle. Pours a deep amber with no head. Aroma is a big sweet alcohol. Dark fruits, creamy vanilla, smooth alcohol, booze, and caramel. Taste is sweet but not cloying. Caramel, alcohol, booze, creamy vanilla, and barrel. Awesome! Medium-full body with a low carbonation. Silky smooth with a dry finish. Overall epic. Sweet caramel and soft booze with creamy vanilla and a smooth finish.

Pours an opaque caramel color with a very thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has boozy caramel and dark fruits...nice brandy notes. Flavor follows suit...boozy but not hot...adds toffee and almost a maple note. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with an earthy/caramely/boozy finish that warms for some time.

Bottle. Pours dark rust red. Big grape and brownie aroma. Taste is thick and boozy, lots of vanilla and fruit sugar.

Nose is dominated by brandy barrel character. Flavor brings toffee pudding, chewy caramel, Creme brûlée, oak, dried fruit. Mouthfeel is very silky and soft, it’s buttery in an oak-y and non diacetyl way.

Bottle, thnx to bytemesis, shared with kermis and JulienHuxely. Pours a hazy brownish beer with a small light tanned head on top. Aroma of congac, barrel characters, some vanilla, loads of caramel, molasses, cinnamon and a dark fruity presence as well. Flavor is very sweet, light boozy, lots of brandy in there, a bit spicy, big wood influences. Very much complexity in there, overall very sweet. Amazing well balanced, big woody characters, very malty. Amazing strong, full bodied beer with low carbonation. Amazing stuff

2011 Vintage. 375mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is gorgeous, with loads of dark fruits (prunes, dates and figs), brandy, and brown sugar. Flavour is luxurious, with complex notes of brandy, dark dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Quite alcoholic without any cloying sweetness or uncomfortable burn. Elegant and complex. A world class barley wine.

Brown color, small head. The aroma develops positively; it has subtle and great notes of dark fruits, raisins, vanilla, alcohol; light tobacco later; gorgeous. The alcohol is so strong that the body perception is affected; lean malt flavor, moderately sweet, some vanilla, lightly biscuity, a lot of alcohol. Good beer, too boozy though.

Bottle - Boozy and brandy, a bit of a burn and caramel. Deep copper with no head. Fig, raisin, toffee, raisin and a long sweet brown sugar. Fantastic except for the nose. Decadent and brilliant.
