Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers’ art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

355ml bottle, pours gold, hazy, with a small white head. Light medium caramel malts, nuanced floral notes, spice and banana, light bodied, creamy with a dry, crisp, slightly sour finish. Soft carbonation. Very nicely balanced.

PranQster? I only just met her! Sorry. Unlike that joke, a pale Belgian-style ale never gets old. This gold-colored beer looks lovely in a tulip glass with its effervescent body and fluffy head. Aroma gives off yeast esters that are fruity, earthy, bread-like, and a bit spicy. The flavor is a balanced mix of banana, crisp clove, and rich malt. Does it taste like something that comes from Belgium? Sure. Is it one of the best Belgian-style brews to be made stateside. I think so, yes. Was the 4-pack a good idea? Definitely. Why the hell am I asking so many rhetorical questions? This has to be better than the -er jokes, right? Damn, that’s another rhetorical question.

Bottle in the Marketplace Ale House, Doncaster. Pours golden with a thin white head. Fruity peach aroma. The taste is lightly spicy booze with a little peach. Caramel, tea and orange peel too. OK.

Draft. It pours a hazy pale yellow/orange color with a white head. The aroma is lightly spicy with some ginger, coriander and orange. The flavor is a bit sweeter with banana, ginger, coriander orange and tangerine. A little peppery spice in the finish, which is a bit on the sweet side. Not bad.

A really really nice golden ale. Best after warming a bit in the glass and opening up a bit. Very smooth, nice citrus notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great mouthfeel, very creamy and carbonated, reminiscent of a hefeweissen but instead of bananas it tastes like lemon pith or white wine grapes. Very well balanced. Great session beer.
