barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA Mar 4, 2006 (draft) A very pretty beer, hazy orange with a nce creamy head. The taste was a little sour, but in a good way. It reminded me of a good lambic more than anything else.
Edgekrusher (39), , USA Aug 29, 2008 Four 12oz bottles purchased for something like $9.75 from local liquor store Pours a cloudy light gold with tons of bubbles and a bit of head. Nice yeasty aroma. First taste follows the aroma - all yeast with a slight spiciness as it goes down. Tripel-like. Not overly complex or exciting - or perhaps I burned out after a rash of similar-tasting tripels.
ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 27, 2008 .seemed overly yeasty and pretty bland. Covers the alcohol fairly well but there was some sort of an aftertaste that I didn’t enjoy that I can’t quite put my finger on...good, but not great. JohnQPublic (157), Brooklyn, New York, USA Aug 27, 2008 Draught into tulip. Pours cloudy orange, with a moderate white head that dissipates to a ring fairly quickly. Nose is sweet apricot, spicy yeasy, bit of candied sugar. Taste begins with candy apricot and a bit of citrus, offset by a big, spicy yeast bitterness that lingers throughout and tends to dominate the finish along with a very over-ripe golden fruit note and a dry, alcohol bite. Medium body, crisp carbonation. Decent, but not my favorite take on the style - yeast and spice characters could be tones down a bit. RedSox2004 (158), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Aug 27, 2008 Great looking golden yellow with a full bright white head that faded to a strong film that stayed solid but left only a little lacing. Strong aromas of orange, toasted sugar, spices and yeast. Citrus fruits dominated the taste up front, followed by toasted sweet malts, spices, and a slight banana flavor. Well carbonated, pleasant soft mouthfeel and a warming alcohol sense made this a wonderful drink. Homebrewerguy (247), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2008 Pours golden with a slight head but good lacing, way too carbonated at opening and first taste, fizzy mouthfeel at first, best to let it sit awhile, yeast flavor comes through as well as a citrus and malty finish, Hopping is correct and stays in the background, letting the Belgian style flavor come through. One of the best American Belgians I have tried.
