3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jebert (310) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Pours a yellow/gold/amber with a huge ivory head. Nose is full of hops and citrus. Very creamy on the palate. Taste is predominately hops with some malt and grain flavors. Finishes crisp and dry. Hopheads will delight in this red ale.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maris (537) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAY 15, 2012
From a 355ml bottle on 15/5/2012. Pours a dark copper with a biggish head. Has quite a sharp, metallic nose with some caramel and fruit notes. The flavour is better, with a solid caramel malt backbone, some nuts, citrus fruit and a medium to firm, quite long hop bitterness. A nice ale.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 rangerred (322) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - MAY 11, 2012
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a slightly hazy light copper with a half finger off-white head.
Smells quite lemony which I’m guessing is from the hops. Some pine as well along with a little bit of caramel and toffee.
The flavor is also full of lemony citrus and pine. There is some slight roastiness and a little bit of caramel. A moderate bitterness is present throughout but is never overwhelming. The finish is slightly sticky.
Overall, I feel a little let down by this beer as I was hoping for a little more malt presence. That aside, it is a drinkable beer and something I would probably have again.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bif (613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Bottle- Pours a bright amber color with a good head and nice lacing. Aroma is piney with caramel sweetness with a bit of fruit thrown in. Taste is a blend of pine and caramel sweetness with a bit of fruit to round it out. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. medium body, crisp smooth and refreshing. Well balanced with a bit of character, spot on. This is a great beer for the style. Goes down way too easy. Well worth checking out

One of the first of this category at Systembolaget several years ago. Some time since last taste of this as well. Pours amber towards brown, high carbonation. Peach but also metal in the aroma. Slightly smokey malt, medium hoppiness. Still enjoyable.
