3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty decent. Malty and moderately hoppy, with a bit of yeastiness. I would have preferred a little more estery flavors, but it was a good beer for breakfast.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2004 CASK at the brewery. Medium red hue, large beige head. Peach aroma of sweet fruity hope, but lacking the strength of an IPA-like aroma. A little flat in the body, but understandable because it was from cask, but I would still prefer slightly more carbonation. Mild oak and pine flavors, altogethor fairly mild. Finish is the most impressive aspect of this ale, with a good spicy and robust feeling on the tongue.

Pours clear orange with a small head. Huge delicious grapefruit aroma. Body is a bit thin. Basically, some wonderful aroma, without the malt backup.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Copper hue with small white head. Outstanding lacing. Medium-bodied. Hoppy aroma with a touch of vinous qualities. Hop explosion on the palate with a bit of spicey and fruity undertones. More akin to a IPA than an APA. Dry and thin finish, lingering bitterness. Not bad, but slighty overrated.

Nice thick head when poured out of the bottle...amazing hop-ay aroma. the taste was nice at first but then i noticed that it tasted a little...off, i guess. not skunky...no, not quite there yet, but Volgon said it seemed stale to him. this is definately a 'smellin' beer' and not a 'sippin' beer'.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2005 Beautiful copper color with a nice fluffy white head. Mild sour aroma. Malty, buttery taste with twinge of NW hops. The finish lasts.

Very enjoyable pale ale. Quite the hops. Average pour with a nice white head. Coppery in color, the malt starts strong, but gets blown away by the hops, not that that's a bad thing...

a very good brew, worth the money for sure. this is my favorite of the north coast brewing ales with the exception of acme pale.
