Malt and hops are beautifully married in this full-bodied, copper-red Pale Ale. Red Seal Ale is generously hopped in the traditional manner for a long, spicy finish.

Bottle at the Moosebead bar, Malmo. Weak bitter malty aroma leading to a nice sweet bitter slightly metallic and somewhat fruity flavour. A quite unusual beer it must be said and a big surprise.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of hops, grapefruit and stale bready malt. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy, herbal hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. Taste was improved as beer warmed up. Overall it is a good brew

Bottles from Rehills, Newcastle and Safeway, Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco. Hazy amber coloured with a sweet toffee and floral red fruity flavours followed by a gentle roasted and pine finish.

Nice amber orange colour with a tan head. Toasted malt, bitter hoppy finish. Definitely has a sweet fruity aroma mixed in there. Nicely carbonated, crisp.

Oh yes. The aroma is like a punch of caramel malt in the face. The taste is softer and a bit damped down but still well balanced. A really classy beer.

Tap. Pour is amber, aroma is fruity, floral, sweet. Taste is fruity, floral, malty, minimal acidity, finish is sightly sour and lightly bitter. Good

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Bronzey amber pour with a lingering sullied white head. Sweetish beak with some hoppage and caramel malts in the mix. Flavour was a similar yarn with notes of wood, fruits and grain. The hops rescued this from mediocrity. Ok overall but not stellar. Put me in mind of a kind of ’solid’ that was prevalent back in the day.

Clear, lively golden-red beer with a thick foamy head and a strong aroma of grassy citrus. Flavour is dry and grassy, with lemon and orange coming through in the flavour and earthy malt to balance it out. Leaves a dry, hoppy flavour on the tongue. It’s really very nice. Simple, strong flavours.

From bottle in Xiamen, China. Pours a rich copper color with a medium off-white head and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is big and full of caramel and malts, with a little bit of pine. Taste is also caramel and malty, but surprisingly dry, and the hoppy bitterness is forward. Medium mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish.
