3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask draft at the Khyber. Honey amber pour with a foamy white head that left a Milky Way of lace around the glass. Like a hoppy ESB but very smooth. Caramel dipped bamboo shoots. Mild black pepper. Wet pine needles. Hints of red fruits. Notes of citrus pith. Cask conditioning seems to have well worn away at any rough edges making this way too easy to drink.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Bronzey amber pour with a lingering sullied white head. Sweetish beak with some hoppage and caramel malts in the mix. Flavour was a similar yarn with notes of wood, fruits and grain. The hops rescued this from mediocrity. Ok overall but not stellar. Put me in mind of a kind of ísolidí that was prevalent back in the day.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, lively golden-red beer with a thick foamy head and a strong aroma of grassy citrus. Flavour is dry and grassy, with lemon and orange coming through in the flavour and earthy malt to balance it out. Leaves a dry, hoppy flavour on the tongue. Itís really very nice. Simple, strong flavours.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From bottle in Xiamen, China. Pours a rich copper color with a medium off-white head and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is big and full of caramel and malts, with a little bit of pine. Taste is also caramel and malty, but surprisingly dry, and the hoppy bitterness is forward. Medium mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear copper colour with medium white head. Lovely spicy and earthy aroma sits atop a nice deep caramel backing. A touch of citrus fruit also present. Thin-medium body with crisp carbonation. Fairly dry with a lovely spiciness. Nicely balanced bitterness that packs a kick along with a tingly finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours amber with little head retention. Grainy, malt nose. Malt/hop balance on the palate through to a bitter, dry, refreshing finish. Overall, just okay, a session beer not to think about.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle -
Aroma - fruity, hoppy aroma, light vinous notes, well dry hopped it seems
Appearance - amber body, thick and creamy 2-finger head, long retention
Mouthfeel - thin bodied, light-medium carbonation
Flavor - caramel flavor with copious amounts piney hops to keep it NC. Not complex in any way, but itís not trying to be.
Overall - one of the better amber ales available, balance is defined here.
