LilBeerDoctor (639), East Setauket, New York, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light clear orange with a thick white head that leaves good lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral, sweet hops. Aroma is not very strong, but it’s nice and inviting. Flavor doesn’t quite match with the aroma. Mostly sweet malt, with a sour, crisp apple finish (like biting into a freshly picked apple). Tart and spicy as well. Not much of a hop presence. This beer grew on me as I drank it and I liked it more and more by the end.
begbie100 (126), Oulu, Finland Oct 11, 2008 335ml bottle. White head, diminishes fast. Copper color, not completely clear.Bittersweet aroma, citrus, tatels. Nice hoppy flavor with sweet malts. Citrus,.. Pleasant dry and bitter end. esox (113), Oulu, Finland Oct 8, 2008 Bottled. Clear amber to copper color. Medium sized head is white. Ok lacing. Nice aroma with plenty of hops, fruits and some caramel malts. Sweetish caramel/toffy malts are balanced with dryish and slightly piney hops. Flavor is clearly drier and less fruity than you could predict by the aroma. The finish is still enjoyable bitter with some lemon. Palate is a bit carboneted, medium bodied and sticky bitter in the finish. puggy211 (336), cordova, Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Pour was a nice bright copper color that was crystal clear. Head was white and maybe half an inch high. Quickly dissipating, leaving no lacing. The aroma was slightly sweet with a slight bit of piney hops coming through. The flavor was clearly past its prime. Where there should have been sweet malts, there were none. Hops remained and offered up a tiny bit of citrus and cedar. Mouthfeel was overly carbonated and astringent. Everyone talks about this beer being such a solid session brew that I’m going to have to rerate it after I get ahold of a fresh bottle/keg of it. rsmeds (190), Turku, Finland Oct 1, 2008 Bottle.
Exceptionally beautiful hazy copper, with a delicious off-white, creamy head.
Amazingly fruity, yeasty hop aroma -- sweet and bitter. Notes of fudge and lemon.
Full bodied and refreshing, lovely hops and yeasty sweetness dominate the flavor, followed by an appropriately bitter, dryish finish. Flavor is not quite as fruity as aroma, but very well balanced.
Moderate carbonation, creamy, leaving a dryish mouthfeel.
Probably the best looking beer I’ve seen in ages! BeerBunker (105), Burbank, Illinois, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours dark orange with a tan head. Aroma is of malts, hops, citrus, and earthy notes. Taste is bitter hops, evened out by a malt and caramel back bone. Lingering sweetness ends each sip. Easy to drink, with a good taste.
