COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

A clear golden beer with minimal head. The aroma is light citrus and bready grain. The flavor is sweet grain, hay, light citrus, light funk.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh) Pours a clear amber with white head. Mild aroma. As another review stated - meh...it's a pilsner. A good pilsner. But there's not much exciting about it. Probably would be pretty decent sitting around a pool on a hot day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gold with lacy thin white head; aroma is lightly malty and grainy; Flava is malty notes of honey; feels light and fizzy; finishes dry slightly tart and hint of hops.

Not a huge fan of the style but it’s to style. Pours a clear golden yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of sweet pil malts, yeast and crisp nobel and German hops. Taste is pil malts, grassy, earthy German hops and some spicy nobel bitterness. Finish is crisp and clean like a pilsner should be.

Meh- tastes like a pilsner. Pours light, tastes light- biscuit and malt dominate- and not much memorable about it. Might do in a pinch, ice cold, after mowing the lawn. Just average.

On tap. Golden color with thin white head which dissipates completely. No lacing. Aromas are faint--sweet malt and muted hops. Flavors are light, but well balanced. Slight citrusy and biscuity notes. No pronounced hop aroma or bite, which is disappointing for a pilsener. This drinks more like a golden ale. Not bad, but not very memorable.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale straw color, thin white head with average retention and lacing. Nose smells like... well, a Pilsner. Noble hops, mildly malty. Mouth is clean and mildly malty, balanced with hop bitterness.Finishes clean. A very basic interpretation of the style. Average, but drinkable.
