COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

pours gold with white foamy head. aroma is typical for a pilsener - grain and light grassy hops. taste is wheat, mild hops, and pale malts, with a hint of fruit - maybe apple or pear. very drinkable.

On tap at Bethesda Food and Beverage. Straw body with little head. Nose is rather bland, some wheat. Taste is malts, dry, straw. Somer carbonation. Dry again in the finish.

Glass bottle. No expiry date. So who knows.

Pours a honey color. About one finger head. Doesn’t last long. Does leave a little around the edge of the surface. No lacing.

Aroma is light. Not a lot of anything. Breadiness. Lemon zest. That’s about all.

I might as well be drinking bread. That’s about all I can taste. Again there is some citrus or lemon in there. It tastes pretty good but there’s not much to say about it.

Mouthfeel is medium. It tastes light. It finishes slightly bitter but smooth.

Overall its okay. I think its slightly off for a pilsner. Not as good as I expected or hoped for, but still not bad.

Into a tulip chilled. Pastel orange and hazy with a lot of protein caught in suspension. Nose hints at gooseberries and blackbutt honey, pot pourri, leavened dough and a hint of cough medicine that is just a little leftfield. Buttery, caramel and soapy on the palate saying that this sample is a little over ’consume by’. Prickly carbonation lets way to a soft finish that hints at pepper and stale hops. Diacetyl slick with a hint of sherry that builds, I’m guessing maybe two years or more in the bottle. Need a fresh one..., quick like! (12fl.Oz, no date stamp, Int’l Beer Shop, Leederville)

What exactly do you compare this to? Honestly it doesn’t have much of a taste or smell. It vaguely is sweetness balanced with crisp and maybe some cereal or wheat basics. Very light carbonation, I poured it from a glass bottle. Very light alcohol, I didn’t feel it. I’d drink this on a warm day or maybe just casually. But I wouldn’t buy it, it doesn’t taste like anything.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent solid yellow color, 1.5mm white head formed but did not lace at all. Aroma of cigarette butts (the cheap ones, trust me on that) and light malt. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt tastes like it has some wheat in it which makes it a little refreshing more than normal, middle has that same cigarette butt taste as I smelt in the aroma, finish is only partly clean and still retains that same damn cigarette butt taste. Can’t tell if it’s Pall Mall Blue 100’s, Camel Filter, or Viceroy’s- still, a little disgusting, even for a smoker like me!

Your basic, refreshing American Craft Beer. Maybe even the Budweiser of Craft? Meant it as a compliment but take it how you like.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Trade with trapped. Bottle received after BB date. Clear gold with a big white head. Sweet, medicinal honey aroma, sweet, stale taste. Light body, flattish. Ugh.

On tap @ Murphy's. Clean aroma with light hop notes. White head with medium bubbles. Very interesting flavor lots of sweet malt flavor. An unexpected flavor in a pilsner. At least I think so. A very flavorful pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Gold color with thin white head that dissipates quickly; some lacing. Toasted malt aroma. Toasted biscuit dominates with a sharp, bitter bite in the backend. No true pilsner flavor but surprisingly complex and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
