3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
As a winter ale, it’s disappointing. It’s not that interesting, or special, but something about Wintertime Ale was very drinkable. To start with, the mouth-feel is very rich and textured but delicately so. An interesting tea taste shines through and works better than I would have imagined. Slight hops aftertaste, with a little floral in there too - enough going on but not too muddled. If they relabeled this as as a farmhouse ale, I think it’d do pretty good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle gift from SJ. Some funk, herbs, caramel and spice. Brew warmed my chest as it went down. Got better as it warmed up. Body was thin.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a darker brown with a small head. Aroma of spices and malt. Taste of the same with more spices. This medium to full bodied brew is a nice little holiday brew.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Tap] Pours a deep, dark brown color. Very little head on top. Aroma of roasted malts. More spice in the taste. Cocoa powder, nutmeg, sticky molasses, light wood smoke and tobacco in the flavor. A little thinner than expected. Low carbonation levels. OK overall. Tasting notes from 2/2014.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
@ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Clear brown with a head that drops quickly to a light cover, no lace. Off-tasting malt with vegetable herbs that is prominent enough to be present when I don’t know the recipe. Maybe it goes where the brewer intends, but it isn’t a very desirable place. Not a keeper.

Malty aroma, hint of spice, slight slat. Flat, slight spice, some caramel and bread. This is pretty bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a cloudy amber color with a beige head that laces the glass. The aroma has a blend of winter spices, with brown sugar, toasted malts, and nuts. The flavor goes pretty much the same way. The spices are not overpowering, and follow a nutmeg-cinnamon-allspice range. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, dry, spicy mouthfeel. Really toasty, which is nice when balanced with some spice. Worked for me.

Not much flavor for a beer that looks as nice as it does. Smooth but mild tasting

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a mostly transparent dark amberish brown with light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes like a brown ale with notes of malt and a bit of bread, winter spices, and toastiness. Average on the palate. Okay.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very carbonated when poured. Taste like a nutbrown. Descent aroma lacking in flavor. Would drink again but probably only in a pinch.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Save On. Dark reddish brown with lasting small head. Caramel apple cinnamon bread aroma. Caramel with dark fruit and apple pie spice with medium assertive herbal bitter finish. Medium body. Okay, Probably should be retired in favor of a big winter scotch ale.
