Guaranteed to straighten you antler and warm your doe. This West Coast style of stout is one of McIntyre’s favorites.

12 oz can. Looks right, although the brown head doesn’t last long. Lots of roast in the nose and mouth. Some coffee as well, but not nearly as much chocolate as some. Doesn’t taste or feel like a seven percent stout, which is a negative for taste and mouthfeel, but a positive for quaffability, I suppose. Some hops in there near the end, I think. Fairly dry. A little different. Well constructed.

Pours a dark brown with a frothy one finger head. Aroma is roasted bakers chocolate with hints of espresso. Taste is roasty with hints of vanilla, a medium body and a smooth finish. Not as sweet as I was expecting but enjoyable

Not sure what a "west coast style" stout is but this was a solid toasty stout. Dark brown-black body with a medium sized tan head and soapy lacing. Semisweet chocolate, earthy roasted malts and a touch of caramel. Medium bodied with appropriately smooth carbonation, modest sweetness and a satisfying finish.

Sample at Vintage Estate. Brownish-black pour with a thick tan head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, malt and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted coffee and earthy hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can thanks to artmcd8. Pours a deep, cola color with a big frothy sand color head. Great looking beer. Rich notes of chocolate. Hints of bitter coffee, vanilla, and roasty characteristics throughout as well. Flavor is quite a bit more bitter than I was expecting. Quite bitter for a stout, really dominates the flavor. If this was a little more balanced this would be a heck of a stout. Flavor just falls a bit short for me.

Jet black with a tan head. Pleasant cocoa, toast, and roasted malt aroma. Smooth, rich mouthfeel. Balanced bitterness.

12 oz can from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. A nice dark tone and tastes of molasses and coal. Some burnt tastes on the finish. Ranks with best of the stouts.

Out of a can. Black. Two finger high head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, cocoa candy, vanilla. Sweet milk. Creamy goodness. Light sweetness. Slight bitter. But more sweet. Like a milk stout. Great texture. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Dark cola color with a huge tan head. Looks like a nitro pour. Aroma is straight oat. Literally nothing else. Pleasant enough on the olfactory front but maybe the most one dimensional aroma I've experienced. Taste has an oat base with some slight hop bitterness. Occasional appearance by some chocolate notes. Smooth mouthfeel with average carb and finish. Not bad. Certainly not "sweet."

Pours opaque brown with huge layer of super thick cream like brown head. Looks awesome. Aroma pretty mellow slight dark chocolate cherry. Flavor creamy lactic sweetness some toasty finish on back end but exceptionally we’ll balanced. Hidden gem right here.
