cheapdark (1606), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2007 Updated: Dec 31, 2007Brownish and slightly cloudy. Creamy off white head. Very slight aroma but not enough to describe. Perhaps there is a little roastiness in there. At first seems a little bitter, then that mellows out immediately. There are some earthy tones there too. Rather light hearted. A medium hop or malt bitterness continues to build during the session. This manifests itself on the back of the throat. More bitter than other alts I’m familiar with. MrBeer (276), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2007 Another good beer from North Country. Has a great flavor to it and that gets better after each sip. I really enjoyed this one. Nate (2255), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 11, 2005 Mild malt aroma with a light bitterness and a bit of honey. Touch of sourness to it, too. Dark orange-amber with a slight haze, topped with a thin white head. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Mild malt note to start, good bitterness. Light horseblanket and chalky bitter and some graininess. Good dry toasted character. After is bitter and dry. Not quite up to Dusseldort standards, but better than other alts made in the U.S.
