COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The discovery of the true I.P.A. (India Pale Ale) made right here in Slippery Rock. The British added hops to oak barrels to help preserve the beer for its long voyage to British-controlled India. Brewed in the same English tradition, we dry-hopped our ale, giving the beer a very aromatic quality as it travels to your mug.

On tap at Bocktown. A nice but run of the mill IPA. Aroma was weak. Could pick up hints of dust and hops. Pour was a nice dark gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was nice except for one thing. There was this sandy, dusty taste throughout. Grassy hops are in the aftertaste and overpower the light malt. Medium to light carbonation. Not bad.

Growler gift from cheapdark! Thank you cheapie!

Pours cloudy cider color, thin off white lacing. Aroma is very hoppy pungent (I love it!) Flavor is very hoppy, citrusy and wheaty: has a clean finish with no bloated malty taste. This IPA is very crisp and tasty. No peat or wet dog here. The body could be fuller, but since it is on the lighter side, it’s more refreshing. I give this my stamp of approval.

12/27/07 - Winter Road Trip ’07 - Draft sample at brewpub. Light amber color, small head. Hop nose, fcitrus and earthy. Big bitterness, floral, piney, and citrus hop flavor. Again, a good offering as far as IPAs go, but nothing special. Definitely my favorite offering.

If you like IPAs, this is one of the better ones that I have tried at a brewpub. Pours a golden amber color. Nice hop nose... citrus and earthy. A great floral bitterness and a touch of sweetness. It leaves some grapefruit flavor when you’re done that lasts.

Nothing special. Pours a very light amber. Lots of hops on the nose. Almost just like the pale ale on the palate. Bitter finish is almost not there with tons of sweet malt.

hazy gold, wispy white head, big sweet citrus and caramel aroma, lots of citrus hop flavor, caramel malt adds a bit of sweetness and lots of balance,

Draught. Color is a nice golden orange, although head is fairly small. Aromas are grapefruity with some pine. Best of the bunch from the sampler that I had, but like most, it could deal with a little more of a malt presence as it comes off fairly thin.

Yes this is IPA, probably more like Impy IPA. Smells like one, looks like one, probably is one. This is one of the strongest beers on tap here today. Bitter and oppresive, like any good IIPA. The taste of this is like many impy IPA I’ve had. Barely any carbonation. Lets all go chew grapefruit rinds that are still green. Opppressive and over the top. Finish is long, bitter and lasting. IPA lovers, this is a must try for you. Get a growler thru trade. I am not an IPA lover.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2007 Pours a nice copper orange, with nice head. Nice hoppy mixture of grapefruit and pine. Was really surprised as this is probably the best IPA I have tried at Western PA brewpub.
