3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Crest Gastropub in Columbus Ohio. Served in a tulip. Wee heavy was a dark copper brew, color of a weathered penny with a firm head of small white bubbles. Nose was just a touch of sweet malt and a healthy portion of smoky peat. Taste is malty, but a too degree drier than the nose would suggest. A good amount of smokiness as well. Body was on the thinner side. Finishing with a touch of bitters. I would have loved this beer if the taste was more in line with the nose. As it was not, this beer leaves me a bit wanting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft pour. Pours a darker copper with a white head of foam. The aroma is spicy, smoky, and meaty. Tastes heavy on the smoke and meat. This would make a good marinade.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sample during the Armageddon tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 12/20/2012. Clear dark reddish-amber pour with a minimal off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit and earthy malt. Medium to full syrupy body with flavors of dark malt and overripe fruit. The finish is sweet with a cloying fruit aftertaste. Below average overall.
