COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A solid American wheat, with a classic nose that transitions to a faint cherry aroma complimenting its rich amber gold hue. As this well-balanced and deceptively light-bodied wheat beer travels across the tongue, the willamette and perle hops hint at bitterness, followed by a crisp, clean wheat flavor that cuts to a subtle tart cherry finish. Asked to describe the flavor of Archangel, the most accurate response is: "it tastes like more.”

Bottle. Poured reddish amber color and an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy tart cherry fruit and sweet wheat aroma. Medium body with with a smooth rich texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy tingly tart cherry flavor with a medium to heavy tart cherry sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Refreshing complex change of pace fruit beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/3/2015. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of tart cherry, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of cherry juice, bready malt, and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of tart cherry, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of cherry juice, bready malt, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a good malt/yeast/cherry balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a nice fruited pale wheat ale style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of cherry juicy, bready malt, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Sample @ the Beverage Company. Pours a hazy orange/ gold with a white head. Crisp, refreshing beer with wheat and light hops in the aroma and taste with a hint of tart cherries to offset the sweetness of the wheat beer. Nice

Bottle at Beerwarming Party. Pours red-gold with a foamy, white head. Lots of wheat in this sweet aroma, with LOTS of cherries. Flavor holds wheat, bread and yeast along with sweet cherry notes. Medium in body with average carbonation Finishes sweet and lightly bitter. Pretty good.

Aroma: Ripe fruit--berries--with hints of wet leaves. Appearance: Cloudy dark gold with a thick white head that dissipates quickly but leaves lots of lacing. Taste: Immediate bitterness that quickly turns sweet and then sharp and sour. I’m sure this was purposeful and well intentioned, but it’s a bit too harsh and bitter for my tastes. Palate: Light body, crisp texture, fizzy carbonation, long, tart finish. Overall: I think this is an attempt at a Berliner Weisse with syrup added, and at that it works. But it’s too sharp and bitter for me, and while I appreciate the goal, the product just falls flat.

Bottle: Cloudy gold with a large, soapy-white head. Wheat, cherry scent. Flavour is slightly bready, wheat malt, semi-bitter cherry malt. Creamy wheat malt...very natural mild cherry notes. Not overly sweet or fruity. Very nice, earthy/wheat feel to it...A nice change from your typical fruit beer.

Reddish-orange pour with a small, short-lived, white head. Fresh sweet-tart cherry aroma with some faint yeasty esters, toffee and cereal grains. The flavor is a big burst of fresh cherries with some notes of pie spices, cereal grains, caramel and a mild spicy hop balance. Medium body with lots of carbonation.

12 ounce bottle, bottled on June 16th, 2011. Served in a Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a huge off-white head. I couldn’t fit the whole bottle into the glass because the head was so big, I had to wait for the head to settle down some to finish before pouring the rest of the beer into the glass. There’s only a small amount of lacing on the glass. The brew smells like bready malt, wheat and some cherries. The aroma seems to get stronger as the beer warms up some. Similar to the aroma, it tastes like wheat, bready malt, sweet/tart cherries and a bit of yeast. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit slick with high carbonation. Once the carbonation settles down, it’s a good drinkable brew. I wouldn’t have any problem buying this again.

12oz bottle from Jolly Pumpin in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a crystal clear, red-gold-amber colored body with an inch thick, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is crisp wheats with some grain and a decent cherry note that is sweet, but lightly tart. Flavor has much more of a juicy cherry flavor. Somewhat sweet, slightly tart cherries up front with a crisp wheat, grain, a touch of bread, and a light herbal hopping. Finishes clean and lightly bitter with some crisp wheat, sweet and tart cherries, and grain. Medium length aftertaste following a medium-light, smooth, crisp body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a nice fruity wheat beer. The wheats are crisp and balance nicely with a mixture of sweet and somewhat tart cherries. This was very enjoyable.
