COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beer’s true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beer’s appeal to more than just hopheads.

Medium body and carbonation. Grapefruit, peach, and apricot flavor. Peach aroma. Clear amber body. Low-medium hop, which was well balanced with the malt.

A great big hop punch offset with a slight malty sweetness produces a perfect go-to IPA. Carbonation produces a thick grassy head of hoppiness that is added bonus of pouring a pint of one of these bad boys.

Poured into a snifter. I love the funny little medicine bottle it comes in. 3.0 A: First pour was nearly asll head. It took a long ass time to get a full glass. Opaque amber brown color. Three fingers of off-white, airy froth. Retention is great, but the head itself is ugly. Some lacing left. 3.0 S: Floral and citrusy hop aroma, though the overall vibe is more earthy. Caramel maltiness with a heavy yeastiness. A little soapy. Bready from the yeastiness. 3.5 T: Taste is well balanced with malts and hops. Fairly strong caramel flavor with a strong malt backbone overall. Orange citrus from the hops with some herbal and earthy notes. The yeastiness is again strong, but it somehow works well in the taste. 3.5 M: Medium body. Surprisingly not overcarbonated (and I didn’t even aggitate it much). Reasonably creamy and fairly smooth. 3.0 D: Not a bad IPA, but heavy on the yeast. If you like that kind of brew, you’ll love this. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-05-2011 20:27:51

Good, easy drinking IPA. Aroma of strong citrus bursting through the malt, and a crisp, clean, extremely hoppy up front taste that finishes a bit bitter. As far as IPAs go, this one is somewhat pedestrian, but solid nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours copper with nearly 3 fingers of puffywhite head. gobs of lacing. Aroma of crystal malts and a bit of pine. Balanced though somewhat bland taste - some hoppy bitterness, crystal malt. A bit rough in the finish. I’d consider it somewhere between a session ale and a british pale ale - I prefer more hop forward. It’s good enough, just not as an American IPA. Love the stubby bottle though..

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a nice cap of off-white foam. Pretty good lacing. Smells is very citrusy with pineapple and grapefruit being dominant. A tiny bit of grain is present as well. Flavor is pineapple and grapefruit up front followed by a bit of tartness. Some earthyness and grain is present towards the finish. There is a strong bitterness throughout. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky. The whole beer just seems a little rough around the edges. It is a little bit harsh and would probably be a one and done for me.

Poured a light orange hue til the end when the sediment murked it up. This bottle is old so I am sure there is more going on when fresh. Sweet malt with some fain piney harshness. A little earthy. Sweet finish.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with a medium head. Aroma is sweet, with caramel and fruity citrus and pine hops. Flavor is sweet citrus fruit with a bitter finish. Not especially carbonated. Good flavor, but somewhat flat and sweet.
