The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beer’s true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beer’s appeal to more than just hopheads.

Bottle, pours a golden orange color with a small head. Nose is pine, resin and hoppy with some sweet apricot. Taste is bitter right up front and than mellows with some mild citrus and pine. Finish is bitter, with moderate lingering, and nice lacing. Descent IPA. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours a dark orange with a white head and hoppy, piney aroma. Taste is bitter, lots of citrus, pine, hops, and caramel with a big bitter, dry finish. Solid, drinkable IPA

On tap. Smells of glorious, glorious hops. Some malt detected as well. Poured a dark copper color with an off white head. Taste is high on the bitter end, just wonderful. Palate is lighty carbonated and long in the finish. Overall a great ipa, will have again.

Poured from bottle at home. Bright orange with no head. Grapefruit and bitter aroma. Taste the same. Citrus notes and hoppy. Pretty good

On draft at jolly pumpkin. Full flavored, even hop presence, poured nice amber color, great lasting head. Delicious!

Pours a cloudy amber color with a pillowy off-white head and good lacing. Big grapefruit aroma with a good malty backbone. Unfortunately, the flavor is not as balanced. The malt character comes through as it warms, but it is really hidden by the huge grapefruit and pine hops. Nice body and carbonation. Long citrus rind finish. Overall, I like it, but would love a bit more malt balance on the flavor.

Bottle poured into tulip. Appearance is a hazy golden-orange with a huge light tan head. Aroma is lots of citrus, especially grapefruit. Taste is an interesting balance of malt and citrus hops. There is a bit of a strange, piney aftertaste. Nice smooth feel. Overall, a solid IPA, though not quite on par with the best.

Found this rating from 5/27/12 on a slip of paper in some pants I obviously haven’t worn in a while. Pours darker than expected for IPA with a decent head. Excellent aroma with an effervescent mouthfeel. The strong smell was a bit of a red herring, as the taste did not match the beer’s pungency. A thoroughly enjoyable beer. Draft. Orange and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Solid IPA.

I am hoping these just bottle poorly. All the flavors were weak or off. I'll try it again if I ever see it tap.
