COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beerís true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beerís appeal to more than just hopheads.

Draft at the brewpub. Slight haze in the honey colored beer. A smallish off white head. The nose is pine, ligjter caramel, and a hint of spice. The flaver is also pine and floral hops with grain and citrus. This is a solid IPA.

12oz bottle picked up at Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor, MI. Bottled on Aug 17, 2011. Pours a mostly clear, orange-red colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is sweeter orange citrus with some biscuity caramels offering a light sweetness. A light mix of florals and grass with a touch of grapefruit rind. Flavor is lemon-rinds, bigger florals, and some grass up front with a sweeter aspect. Some light caramels and a touch of biscuit come in along with some oranges and grapefruits. Gets a bit herbal into the finish where the bitterness increases, but there is some sweetness. Dry, floral, orange-sweet hoppiness, and a touch of bready caramel in the finish before leaving a fairly lengthy aftertaste. Medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA. Some sweeter orange, floral hops and a lighter caramel that is balanced and easy drinking. Not bad.

bottle... murky gold body, light white head... the nose is too light but decent, a bit of pineapple and pine... tastes better then nose, more flavor than anticipated not a lot of hops, a sweet, drinkable ipa but kind of boring

Bottle. Definite pine and floral hop aroma. Orange amber color, tall foamy off-white head... a little cloudy. Sharp bitterness but is missing something to make this a better IPA. It grew on me a little as I drank more of the bottle. Overall, not bad. I would have at the restaurant.

Purchased from "Ludlow Wines" in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this is not a great American IPA, but I purchased it and find it passable for the style. Now live with my opinion or die with it on your mind.

Bottle. Piney nose is sticky with an earth/caramel base, otherwise Iím mostly pulling out Cascade here. Orange pour with a rocky beige/tan head. Taste is bittersweet, not terribly strong but cleansing. Light body a little watery, dryish malty finish with a little too much crystal, but the main course has bright and supple citrus, bendy like Crystal Light. Works for me.

A: The pour is orange in color with a small white head that fades away quickly. S: The hop aroma is slightly floral with a little bit of bread. There is a strange apple note to the beer as well as some grassy hops and a mild skunk. The back end has a bit of sweet malt. T: Starts off with semi-sweet bread and malt. The beer is only somewhat hoppy, especially for an IPA. The same green apple, grass, and just a touch of sweet citrus. There is only a mild bitterness. M: The body is medium with a medium to high level of carbonation. O: Pretty lackluster, underwhelming IPA. I wasnít a big fan of this one.

12oz bottle. Somewhat hazy amber color, minimal head leaving minimal lacing. Fruity hop aroma, but itís lacking something. Strange bitterness. Carbonation a bit strong. Lightly (metallic?), oily aftertaste. Not at all drinkable. Got to admire North Peak for having several different IPA offerings, though. They definitely are distinctly different, so far.

Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Aroma is caramel malts, sugary, fruity. Medium to full mouth. Flavor is full of lightly citrus fruit, sweet malts, and a nice lasting tingle of bitterness. Pretty solid IPA.
