COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beer’s true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beer’s appeal to more than just hopheads.

Bottle from East side liquors in Traverse City. (great 1950s bottle, by the way) Pours hazy orange-tan. Aroma is faintly pine and citrus. Taste is the resiny pine, some bitter grapefruit, some malt. Finish is bitter, but fairly light.

Deep amber pour with a white head. The nose is soft and sweet but also quite dusty. Lots of caramel malt but there is also a lot of distinct diacetyl/DMS character. Moderate bitterness and a lingering sticky sweetness. This is a gross IPA.

Clean and easy to drink for a full flavored beer. In a taste test with 5 other IPAs this was the winner.

Murky amber with a large frothy beige topper and some lacing. Aroma of mildly skunked grains, grassy hops and some malt. Taste of grassy hops, pale malt, mild fruit and something else I can’t quite pinpoint. Thinner than expected with a moderate bitter fininsh.

Champagne Cellars. Very heady lacey orange coloured body. Slightly pleasant aroma. Median mouthfeel, a tad creamy. Very drinkable tasty C hop orangey IPA. Just a drop astringent in those last drops of the bottle. Very good.

Expired bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a thick, beige merengue-like head and heavy scattered lacing. Smells of fresh cooked caramel, with some butterscotch and malted milk. Floral hops hinting through, but overpowered by the caramel. Taste is quite full with a lot of malt and hop bitterness coming through at the end. Lots of burnt toast. Finishes crisp with some moderate bitterness at the end. Would like to try this fresh.

12oz bottle from Michigan. Orange amber color with very small amount of head. Aroma is happy, but the is plenty of malt presence. The hops are more spicy than flowery. Aged rather than fresh and juicy hops. Good but nothing special or memorable. Maybe a good session ipa.

12 ounce bottle shared by MaltDawg at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Pours a hazy amber color with floating particles. Medium sized head. Aroma of citrus hops and a slightly metallic note. The taste is citrus hops, caramel and a bitter finish that lingers.
