The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beer’s true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beer’s appeal to more than just hopheads.

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Resiny hops and bread on the nose. Caramel malt and nice resiny bitter finish. Medium bodied and good carbonation. Pretty nice beer

This IPA is terribly on style. Odor of a pine tree with some slight intuiging BO. Thick oily pour. No signs of co2. Very bitter all the way thru. Very similar to NP viscious wheat IPA. Yes, terribly on style and plowing across my palate.

Good, standby IPA. Blend of citrus/pine notes, creamy white head, delicate lacing, amber-orange coloration. Recognized two out of four hop varieties right away.

Reviewed from notes. Pours amber with an off white head and some light lacing. The nose brings out some very light citrus and pine hops with a bit of caramel malt in the background. Taste is of very light hops with some caramel and semi sweet malt. Feel is medium with light bitterness. Overall, just an average beer. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-29-2010

Pours a deep burnt orange to amber with little head. Nose is a nice floral bouquet of citrus, flowers, grapefruit and lemons blended with some light caramel malts. Taste is hop dominate with bright citrusy cascade backed by just a touch of caramelly malts. Crisp hops and bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is just a little rough in a good way. Overall I liked it though the hop profile is a little basic.

Golden color out of the little stubby bottle. Thin off white head. Big sharp citrusy hops of mostly grapefruit and some pine. Thin body. This beer is all about the hop juice. Flavors of grapefruit zest, hop pellets, tangerine, apricot with some fresh bagette. This is a sweet IPA, with an almost white sugar sweetness. Decent hop centered IPA.

Purchased from the Jolly Pumpkin brewpub. It comes in a stubby Red Stripe style 11.5 oz bottle. It pours a hazy peachy amber with a big billowing white head that lasts for a god while. This one is pretty balanced between the malt and hops smell wise. There is a big hit of sugary pale/crystal malts with a nice kiss of cirusy hops. THe yeast adds an extra bit of twang to the party. The taste follows the nose. Up front there are a ton of malt flavors . In the end you get a nice blast of bitter hops, but no real depth of hop flavor. The mouthfeel was a bit too carbonated. The bubbles and biting of the carbonation detracted from the malts and only carried the one dimensional hop profile across the tongue. I love hops but in these types of IPAs where the hops aren’t the ain show I would rather the malt be the focus with the hops as an accent. Overall it is middle of the road for an IPA. Draft at the Cincy Winter Beerfest. Aroma is floral hops and a nice malt backbone. Notes of citrus, fresh cut grass, and grapefruit stand out. Palate is light, smooth, and refreshing. Flavor is sweet, bringing out the citrus character a bit more. I was pretty impressed for a regular (not double) IPA.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is a translucent copper with an offwhite head. Aroma is primarily hops with a sweet background along with the aroma. Good but nothing fantastic.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a small off white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, light pine and grass, earth undertones. Flavors are lightly sweet malt, earhty hops, light booze. Medium body, bittersweet/malty in the front, with a bitter/dry finish. Pretty descent, non offensive... but not all that exciting either.
