2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle. Pours black with a small chocolate colored head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of bitter chocolate, soap, hints of vanilla and caramel. Taste is bitter cocoa, coffee grounds, caramel, soap. Dry finish of cocoa and roast coffee. Undoubtedly the highlight of this beer. Medium body, thin watery texture, average carbonation. Not bad, but ultimately nothing special. I had high hopes for this one too. Disappointing.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle shared. Medium dark brown with off white head. The aroma is like bittersweet chocolate and coffee. The flavor is off for a stout. You get a bitterness from the chocolate that is not very good. It’s almost a thin bodied beer. Not very happy with this one at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has chocolate, cream, vanilla, roast, dark caramel and light apples. It has a medium body with some crispness and light sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with dark cocoa, roast, light berries and is overall pretty dry. The finish has a touch of spice and some earthiness. Decent stout.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice blend of both dark and milk chocolate, along with heavily roasted coffee and hints of nuts and light cream. Much too thin for the style. Improving the feel would probably make this a very good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate dark chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee, dusty notes, and a touch of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with no transparency. It has a two finger beige head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is a good amount of dripped webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of dark chocolate. There is a touch of fruit in the background. The finish has moderate black coffee, roasted nuts, and light burnt notes. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall...yeah, there’s some chocolate here, but I wouldn’t say it’s much more than your average Stout brewed without chocolate.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a very small head that quickly fades to a ring. Aromas are medium roasted coffee, chocolate, and burnt wood. Taste is bitter, roasted coffee grounds and some light chocolate and ash. Some spicy hops in the finish. Medium body but the mouthfeel seems a bit watery. Overall, surprisingly more roast and coffee than chocolate here. Average stout.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black with a very large foamy monster of a brown crown that fades away much to slowly. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, grains, chocolate and a touch of sourness. Taste of dark roasted malts, coffee and notes of peat and very faint chocolate. Chalky and bitter.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours very dark brown almost black, head was thick and java colored. aroma was very chocolatey. Beer seemed to be over carbonated, fizzed up in my mouth. was much better after pouring into a glass.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lil stubby from Belmont Party Supply, Dayton. Hefty carbonation is putting it mildly, as this was a big sticky pour, 3/4 foam and reluctant to settle. Inky black body, sticky lacing everywhere, and a nose of aggressive bitters. Mouthfeel was tangy, carbonation not too intrusive. The taste was probably the most lacking dimension, a bit too thin and roasty overall, like an aged Schwarz more than a sumptuous chocolate stout. But it was a’ight.
