The devil is in the details. The light touch of pale and wheat malts. Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe and Chinook hops. Massive hops additions imbue a wicked bitterness and the intense floral aromas of citrus and lush tropical fruit. Hoppy, hoppy, rich and golden.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange peel, lemon, ethanol, hints of grass, bread, some caramel, touch of white fruit. Taste is a mix of bread, grass, caramel, toffee, hints of orange, floor wax, finishing sweet, goopy, alcoholic.

It poured an amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of spicy hops, some malts and floral notes. The taste was of a good malt base, lots of hops, some citrus, tasty florals and a hint of grass. Very nice.

Pour is a hazy, murky amber with a small white head. Aroma is fruity hop with a decent caramel malt. Flavor is super sweet caramel malt with a decent hoppy backbone. Finish leaves equal hop resin and sweet malt on the tongue. Decent strong/IPA ale. A bit sweet and thick but has enough hop presence to make this appealing.

Draft. Poured clear copper with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Surpassed my expectations.

Super max DIPA! Almost had to chew the body! Hops and alcohol were at the top. Dark amber color. $3.89/12 ounce was a bit pricey.

Bottle snagged right from the case delivered 2 days ago at Tipples. Unfortunately, bottles dated June 17, poured August 23 and there is nothing IPA left here. Second time I’ve had this issue with North Peak in FL. They need to get their distro figured out. Pours hazy orange with nearly no head. Aroma of caramel, orange peel, sweet bready malt. Flavor follows the aroma very closely with a big malt bomb on the tongue, sweet and bready, some caramel and toffee, and some orange peel. Heavy body, resinous to some degree, with medium carbonation. I really liked some of the North Peak stuff when I lived in Ann Arbor (though, Grizzly Peak always left a LOT to be desired), but since getting distro in Florida it is nothing but old stuff. Oh well.

On tap at Dutch’s. Keg filled June 11. Labeled on the keg (and elsewhere on the internet) as "Midwest India Pale Ale". After some digging, looks like the ABV is 9.99%... Seems to be a counterpart to their Diabolical IPA (which has an ABV of 6.66%). First pour from the keg... Totally hazy orange amber color. Good thin off-white head, with good retention. Leaves good thicker lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Good full mouthfeel, kind of a creamy texture. Lightly slick finish. Nice big resiny earthy hop on this. Makes me think of hiking in midwestern forests. Plenty o’ pine. Lightly spicy finish. Some caramel earthy kind of spicy malt, but it’s not as pronounced as other people are saying here, for me. Maybe the malt is unintrusive for me, it works nicely with the big unusual hop profile. An unusual way to do a DIPA, but I like it. Reminds me of the HooDoo (which I loved). Moderate to bigger bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Alcohol works alright. Light bit of heat on the end that makes for a pleasant finish. Doesn’t bother me at all, it doesn’t linger. Overall, a very interesting unique IPA that is a pleasure to sip on, and a great one to wash my reuben down with.

Lightly hazy copper with a modest white head. The aroma has lots of mushy malt, caramel, toffee, citrus and tropical hops. Medium / fully body with a good amount of soft carbonation. Starts with lots of caramel, toasty malt, earthy hops and some pine. The finish has some tropical notes and then lots of bready malts linger for a while. This strikes me as a barleywine/American Strong Ale sort of thing with the hoppiness of a standard IPA. Its fine and worth trying.

On tap at the Daily Growler, UA. Amber pour, off-white head. Aroma of floral and citrus. Tastes are bitter, little onion, herbal, citrus. Even but big long bitter finish - like chewing on flowers. 7.2
