North Peak Hoodoo Midwest Wet Hop IPA is the first of itís kind. Brewed with fresh from the farm Michigan hops for exceptional flavor. Hoodoo is hops from start to finish with a little malt in the middle, just enough to keep Hoodoo from going Voodoo on you. not to worry - pretty much nothing but hops.

Pours opaque golden honey color, large off white head. Nose of great wet hop, grapefruit and chronic. Nice full bodied ipa, lots of sweet hop flavors, hints of honey malt. Really great example of a wet hopped beer, delicious.

I love this beer. Wet hops have very ripe flavor and aroma. Very hard to find. Wish they had more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle, bottled 10/23/12. A wet-hopped double IPA? Sounds awesome. Mostly hazy red-orange color. Big foamy dense off-white head. Good lace. Looks great. Hoppy nose. Super dank, resiny aroma. Piney, big bitter taste. Very light caramel malts. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Bigger body, not sticky or syrupy. More of a clean, dry finish, but with a big resiny hop aftertaste. Yeah, I went through these 12 fluid ounces way too quickly. Definitely going to pick up a couple more of these, if I can. This stuff is great.

Bottle. So the beer pours a fairly dark amber color and sports a pretty large head of tan suds that sticks around for a while. Aromas are thick with hops. Like that non-description hops smell you get from raw hops when youíre brewing. I have a hard time telling them apart at that stage of the game. There is a bit of a resin edge to the nose, and this really becomes pronounced on the palate. The beer is caramel based (increasingly so as it warms and airs) from the malt perspective and resin and pine based as far as hops are concerned. This one is a winner and reminds me quite a bit of northern Michigan hikes through the pine trees.

Overpowering fresh herbal and pine hops! Slightly cloudy golden color, with average head. Minimum malt balance as promised. Alcohol didnít intrude. Best North Peak brew that I have tried.

This boss IPA poured a clear golden and immediately was very strong, floral hops. It tasted rich and citrusy, strong but not bitter overload. Overall this is one of the best strong IPAs Iíve had in awhile. I will be drinking this more, would like to find it on tap!

Pours a mostly clear copper color with a foamy white head that lingers a long time. Aroma is very piney and floral with hints of grapefruit, oranges and caramel malt. Taste is an explosion of dank hops. Tons of pine and grapefruit, lots of caramel malt to balance. Really intense flavor. Moderate bitterness. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Great beer.

A midwest masterpiece! Keep it settled for a clear hop/pine explosion or swirl in the hoppy resin goodness for a textural experience beyond no other. If you love hops this was made for you and a generous 9%+ alcohol does not hurt either.

Poured into a pint glass. 2.0 A: This is an ugly looking brew. Opaque orangish brown. One of the worst colors Iíve ever seen. This had too much carbonation, so it took three pours to get the glass full. Eventually, three fingers of foamy off-white head. Retention is good, but lacking is sparse and completely randomly placed. 3.5 S: Mega-dank hops. Floral, lightly piney, some herbalness, and most importantly cat piss. Seems to be plenty of bready yeastiness going on as well. Tough to smell much past the yeast and hops. 4.0 T: Iím shocked to find that the yeast isnít overly dominant. Rather, citrusy, floral, and herbal hops do the talking. Yes, the yeast is still there, but it seems to work with the beer rather than against. Mild to moderate bitterness. Some caramel and neutral sweetness. Bready yeast. 4.0 M: Medium body. Good carbonation, despite the multiple pours. Reasonably creamy and smooth. 4.0 D: Good, hoppy beer. Ugly as hell, but easy to drink. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-14-2011 00:52:15
