COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
North Peak Hoodoo Midwest Wet Hop IPA is the first of it’s kind. Brewed with fresh from the farm Michigan hops for exceptional flavor. Hoodoo is hops from start to finish with a little malt in the middle, just enough to keep Hoodoo from going Voodoo on you. not to worry - pretty much nothing but hops.

Very hazy dark amber beer. Big off white head. The head tastes of dark toffee and citrus and pine hops. Palate is softish and semi dry. Creamy malt, still with the dark toffee. Seamlessly integrated with pleasant citrus pine hops. Trace of red berry fruits. Trace of aniseed. Soft finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Poured clear light copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter hop flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer that exceeded my expectations.

This beer is a reddish-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Fruity hops in the note along with notes of sweet malt. Medium body with a citrusy hops character and flavors of grainy malt and pine in the background. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering grapefruity hops aftertaste. Straightforward, well-made IIPA all around.

Bottle thanks to Sean! Pours a clear deep amber with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a decent amount of grassy and floral hops with a bit of grapefruit and backing sweet grains. Flavor starts smooth with grapefruit and floral hops but transitions to more of a bitter grapefruit finish.

12oz bottle, bottled 10/23/12. A wet-hopped double IPA? Sounds awesome. Mostly hazy red-orange color. Big foamy dense off-white head. Good lace. Looks great. Hoppy nose. Super dank, resiny aroma. Piney, big bitter taste. Very light caramel malts. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Bigger body, not sticky or syrupy. More of a clean, dry finish, but with a big resiny hop aftertaste. Yeah, I went through these 12 fluid ounces way too quickly. Definitely going to pick up a couple more of these, if I can. This stuff is great.

12 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a nice resiny, mild citrus and earthy hop character, some toasted malt, very light caramel. The bottle says 8% while this lists 9%, either way it is easy to drink and I don’t get much alcohol. I sometimes overlook these, but many are pretty tasty solid beers.

Bottle to snifter. This year’s batch is listed as 8% on the bottle. Looks good; a transparent orange with foamy off-white head. Smells solid; a somewhat bitter hop profile with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smoo mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Draft at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Ruddy orange-brown body, thick puffy beige head. Bitter piny nose with some citrus rind and tannic berryskin. Very bitter, prickly, toasty body with hard candies and berries, becoming quite sweet with warmth and after a few sips. Very good, but almost cloying sweetness.

12 fl oz bottle shared by my buddy, served child in a tulip glass. Hazy deep amber with a thin white rim. Resin and pine, nice fruitiness, caramel, quite sweet-smelling, slightly peppery, more bright, assertive and refreshing than diabolical. Medium body, fine, gentle carbonation. Sweet, peppery, fruity, resinous, light caramel, a little booze; sweet with pretty good bitterness and a long caramel, pine and fruit finish. A little too sweet for me.
