2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange peel, caramel, toasted bread, some nuts, hints of slight yeasty notes, hints of grain, slight biscuit. Taste is a mix of earth, grass, bread, hints of dark nutty notes, some toast, caramel, finishing bitter, slightly sweet. Just ok.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
pours hazy bright golden orange with a frothy off-whtie head, good retention and lacing. oranges, spices, minerals and metal - carbonic acid, spicy graininess - decent toasted malt features, some coffee grinds, hint of sweetness, resin and earthy traces, grass and bitter herbs, pepper, some off fruity notes. fizzy carbonation, light body - tad watery, dry and bland grassy-spicy-herbal finish. too bad..

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Man, I love these short stubby 12 oz bottles, such class. Has a sweeter initial wine like attitude on the smeller. Dark Iced tea in color. Tastes much stronger than the 5.6% listed here. Quite medicinal as the session continues. However, it does have a good sizzle on the tongue from the refined co2. Finish is straightforward heavy alky malts. Almost cloying at times but in a good way. The more I drink the harder it is to ignore the rude ale attributes.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
wet light roasted grain, hop smell. Reddish brown with just off white head. Smooth intro the light roasted malt and hops hit simultaneously. Light bitter remain after the sip.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Dan's. The pour is a nice coppery amber with a decent head and some good lacing. The aromas are solid on the malts, but that's about the effect of the strong points. There is a sweetness and maybe some caramel, but there is a lot to be wanted here. The hops are pretty much nonexistent. The flavor mimics this. All malt, some good sweetness, but remaining bland and longing. The mouth feel is iffy. Thin and lacking a bit of carbonation but the aftertaste is sweet, lightly dry, and decently lasting.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Jolly Pumpkin on the peninsula. Pours a deep dark amber/ruby with a small eggshell ring of foam. Mellow nose of caramel apple and a little toast. Fairly sweet with some bitterness and a dash of tartness. Lighter bodied, average carbonation, slick on the palate. Good with food.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 2/6/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. some minimal spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, molasses, raisin, prune, cherry, apple, toast, biscuit, toffee, and herbal. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. A very pleasantly enjoyable malty aroma. Taste of caramel, molasses, toast, biscuit, cherry, raisin, apple, red grape, toffee, earth, and herbal. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, molasses, dark fruit, toast, biscuit, earth, and light herbal spiciness on the finish for a bit. Great balance of malty flavors with good complexity; and no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a very nice creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with pretty much zero warming on the finish noticed. Overall this is a very excellent Irish red ale! Great balance of fruity flavors with toasted caramel maltiness; and extremely smooth and easy to drink. The best North Peak beer I have had to date.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Copper color with off-white head that lingered well. Malt-heavy aroma, smooth body, and very malty finish. Minimal hop interference but pretty good balance. For lack of a more articulate way to describe it, it had a very "British" character that I liked. Also happy to see an "Irish" rendition that wasn’t a red.
