3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown coloured body with a nice rich copper glow and a good, but thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of earth, malt, pungent deep hops (english) and some pit fruit sweetness and a touch of caramel - nice and strong smelling. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front that show some earth and caramel, along with a good malt backbone and some sweet finishes with toffee the strongest. Aftertaste shows well with the hops coming out first, but the malt and yeast finishing off the beer - all capped by a smooth sweetness. Overall, a surprisingly nice beer from a state that I didn’t think you could buy these beers from - Florida! I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits (Orange Blossom Trail) in Orlando, Florida on 01-October-2015 sampled a few minutes later at my hotel room (WDW Swan) in Orlando.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Stubby from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours copper with a creamy near-beige head. Aroma of fruit hop and mildly roasty malt. Med body or so. Flavor is a blend of sweetish malt and floral/fruity hop. Hint of astringency. Doesn’t finish very dry, but is rather bitter. Decent drink.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The beer pours a hazy copper color with a medium off-white head. The aroma has a solid toasty and biscuits malt backbone, but the hops are the main attraction; English earthy hops mixed with American citrus and resin hops hit the nose in a powerful yet delightful fusion. The taste is quite bitter with lots of hop bitterness throughout the flavor; there is a touch of sweetness from the malt, but it gets overpowered easily. The palate has a medium body, sticky texture, and a soft carbonation with a bite that only emphasizes the bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, just a hint of murkiness, light trailing eggshell white head. Aroma yeasty, doughy aroma with a hint of spearmint. Tart flavor with a solid enticing spicy bitterness, light citrus, some toffee sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel has just enough spritz to keep it interesting. Surprisingly enjoyable, the others I have had from North Peak missed the mark,

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a murky brown. Not the best tasting beer. Bit of a funky aftertaste. Would only drink again in a pinch.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours reddish amber with beige head. The aroma has Irish ale yeast, toasty malt that is somewhere between nuttiness and metallic notes. There is a bit of hops with spiciness and touch of fruit. It has a medium body that is very crisp and quite a bit of carbonation. The flavor starts off with very sharp, heavily astringent and light hoppiness. The finish has metallic astringency that overtakes everything. Didn’t care for this.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2015 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/21/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of big citrus/pine hops, moderate dark/bready malt, and light yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, light pine, caramel, toast, brown sugar, biscuit, light toffee, light roast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, light pine, caramel, toast, brown sugar, biscuit, light toffee/roast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness, balance, and complexity of citrus/pine hops, dark/bready malt, and light yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy red ale style. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of citrus/pine hops, dark/bready malt, and light yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Pretty disappointed that they went and changed the recipe for this beer. It was my favorite Irish red ale before, but now it barely represents the style at all. However, it is very enjoyable for what it is as a hoppy red ale.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange peel, caramel, toasted bread, some nuts, hints of slight yeasty notes, hints of grain, slight biscuit. Taste is a mix of earth, grass, bread, hints of dark nutty notes, some toast, caramel, finishing bitter, slightly sweet. Just ok.
